Oh my and the crying starts about the judging already............ Next week the Jamfest Judges are going to suck too. The bottom line is that the cheergyms teams looked great the comp and pretty much deserved all of those wins. Judging or not.

no one was crying about the judging but you do have to expect that if you have judges from the same gym judging they have a particular style they like nothing wrong with that
all the cheergym teams looked great they were the strongest and cleaniest squads for first competitions minus legends great job too.  all the teams did great
i think what was trying to be conveyed was the judging was favorig a certain style and again nothing wrong with that just opinions

we all know cheergyms is awesome not trying to take away from their victiories just having a discussionwink

Sensitive...they said ALL the teams made mistakes, not just Motions. I did not get to see Motions juniors but their senior coed was good. It was obvious during the tumble-off that they have some very highly skilled high level kids on that team.

I also enjoyed Legends routine. I hope they can get it cleaned up, its early so I'm sure they will.

All the cheergyms teams were nice and clean. I'm still not a big fan of the style but it works for them and the judges yesterday obviously loved it.

Divas stunted like no other. They need to step up the tumbling difficulty big time but their opening stunt sequence took my breath away. Again as has been said, little mistakes that they need to get fixed, but when they do I would venture to guess that there will be no teams in the area that can out-stunt them.

The tiny, mini, and youth teams have really stepped it up! Lots of great routines at all levels!

So now everyone has their first comp nerves out of the way, should be a great season!

ok we know divas can stunt and we have seen what mike can do with the legands tumbling (the have 4 or 5 level 5 tumblers on a level 3 team) and they share the same gym then why dont they just make one team. they would be one of the top teams in norcal or allcal.. lol.. i just came up with a new one.. All Cal.. lol i crack my self up. anyways they should just combine thats what i think

because they were only okay, i thought.  they didn't hit all their stunts, heard their pyramid wasn't solid and did a standing tuck out of a jump (which i thought was illegal in 4)

good tumbling tho, just not sure about their winning.

hehe....they fooled you! The girls that did the tucks only kicked their leg while the rest of the team did front hurdlers.

I did not pay attention to that, and stand corrected.  my apologies!

Pyramids Senior Level 4 had awesome strong tumbling.  They had two falls in their stunts (I think?) and I didn't think their stunts had much difficulty to be honest.  But they definitely deserved first for the cleanness of the rest of the routine and their amazing tumbling.  Just my observation.  That's what I noticed about the level 5's going to 4, it shows in the tumbling sequences, but not in the stunts.

Pyramids junior 4 hit a clean routine. All their stunts hit and they had high score for the day. (417) Special needs rocked the house and Ledgends was a big surprise.

I enjoyed Legends.  I liked the cleanness of Pyramids and Motions although their stunts were not so clean (and one tumbler from Motions kicked some girl in the head I think), but otherwise they did great for their first comp.  Divas looked good, I enjoyed their routines.  Cheer Xplosion teams looked like they need some work (messy, some  confusion) but I enjoyed the level 4 team, especially their dance.   I was impressed with Oakridge, I wondered how often they practice outside of doing football games?   The same as all stars?  UCF's senior level 4 team looked really young, but I thought they held their own and will only get stronger as the season progresses.  Sorry if I left anyone out, those were the ones that stood out.

Actaully they do not tuck out of a jump. If you watch closely those girls actually do one kick while keeping the other foot on the ground, but it got you to look huh? So next time watch for that.

I think all of the teams looked great! For the first time out there, the teams did pretty well. Of course everyone had their little mistakes here and there, but there would be nothing to work on, if there wasn't mistakes. (It's too early to be "perfect.")

Great Job and congrats to Pyramids, Motions, other cheergyms staff, and the parents for an incredible day! I am so proud of all of you. Your hard work has started to pay off. Keep up the great work, and let's do even better next weekend! Thank you to all of our supporters out there, we appreciate the nice words.

As for everyone else, great job at the POWER comp, and I wish everyone the best of luck in the season to come.

legends and divas are just two different teams that want to stay two different teams.. and have their own recognition

i agree about ucf girls they are an extremely young senior level 4 team but held their own i hope their coaches move them down a level so they can compete and do well against other teams im a ucf mom and dont claim to know much about levels but you could see the difference in age and ability level
im hoping they move them down so the girls can be confident - imo it will be good for them
nothing negative to say about them or any other teams they all did great and it will be a fun comp season cant wait to see power
pssst i hope others support that your voices may be heard or should i say read

I think a lot of people that have opinons about placings forget that you get points for difficutly and deductions for mistakes. When difficulty out numbers mistakes, well, the team that is true to the level they have entered is going to win. In my opinion, I was impressed with Legends, Pyramids Jr 4, Both Motions teams, Divas Sr Coed Stunting(although not a fan of the uniform, but thats a discussion for the uniform police!), and I was also impressed with the tumble off. Those legends girls were amazing, obviously ex-gymnasts, all the cheergyms kids looked awesome and stepped it up in difficutly (a little sneak peak into All American). Overall, as the first competition for a lot of the teams, everyone had a great showing! I cant wait to see what the routines will look like in 2-3 months from now. You know coaches are going back to their gyms and brainstorming what they can do to enhance their routines. Oh, and we cant forget the "bring it on" scene right before the comp started between those two youth football teams, that was HILARIOUS!

Oakridge had to compete at the higher levels due to how our routines were put together for league competiton (am comp).  We actually had to take out double fulls from stunts and fulls from tumbling to comepte at level 4.  We also had to take out fulls from lower division.  We only practice 3 days a week 2 hours a day and only 45 minutes of that time is on mats.  We started practice July 23rd. Our midgets team is all 13 year old 8 th graders with one 7th grader.
This was the team that competed senior level 4.

Pyramids you were awesome and good luck this season! Jodi your special needs team brought a tear to my eye.  I think it was the young Gentelman from Motions in the tumble off, your actions with the special needs young lady was by far the best and most encouraging act of sportsmanship i have seen in many years! Hats off to you and your coaches for your integrity!  You made a an impact on my whole organization!.
