Is everyone ready or scrambling

Here we are, competition time again.  Is everyone ready or is anyone (Like us) scrambling to "get it right" for the first competition?

Scrambling for sure.  The first comp is always a good one to see what's working, what isn't, make changes as needed.

I dont know how yu guys do it. I could never let my daughter be a part of a progam with bad overall attendance. That kind of cheerleading is better left to Youth FB & HS.

Do the coaches attend every practice. It's been my experience that bad attendance usually starts with the staff.

The gym we attended charges the parents a fee for unexcused missed paractices and we love it. You are even required to come if your sick, you can sit out but you must attend practice. This is a great policy. Why some people pay that kinda of money for cheer and not attend beats me, but these are always the first people to complain when thier team is not ready, or has a bad season.

At our gym everything is getting shuffled around adding more practice taking away some we have a huge problem getting everyone to show up it starts with the coaches we are 3 weeks away from a competition and we dont have music we dont have transitions we are still adding on it is ridiculous half the time we dont know who will be coaching and it affects us all cause 1 coach makes 1 change 1 day since the other coach isnt around and then the other coach changes it the next its like a power trip there is no communication. this is my senior year and last year cheering and I am so ready to quit

My Friend read this and suggested I come on here and read about others who are experiencing dealing with poor attendance at cheer gyms.  I agree that we should not pay for cheer programs that have bad attendance, I too am dealing with the same problem in the sac area. I have expressed my concern as a parent in the most respectful way that I could.  Trying hard to respect their program and not step on toes, but it is now getting to the point that I may need to take my daughter out of the program.  I have no problems paying to get her into a new program where the athletes, coaches and parents are just as committed as we are.  It is a hard place to be at right now with the season getting ready to kick off. I am trying to support the gym and the coaches, but it is getting difficult. Does anyone know of any outstanding programs with dedicated athletes, coaches and parents in the sac area?????

i am realistic and know that no gym will be perfect, but when you are spending the kind of money for All Star cheer you should at least be content and some what satified without expecting things to be perfect.  i really would like any suggestions you may have

We have had some attendace problems with athletes but not coaches.  We usually have at least 2or 3 coaches at every practice and sometimes as may as 5 especially right now before our 1st comp. I just don't how parents pay so much for this sport and not make there kids show up.  Good lesson in responsibility.  food for thought weirdface

Thank you i will research these gyms, unfortunately my daughter is currently on one of the gyms you mentioned who is having attendance issues.  But thank you and I am looking forward to finding an equal match for our family.

Well she has to be on one of these gym if your in the Sac area. I am pretty sure this is ALL the gyms in and around Sacramento. I think they were just giving you all the options you have when choosing another gym in Sac.

This season is going to be interesting. No matter what I say or do, people still miss practice! They always have an excuse too. I have had 2 girls quit my team since we choreographed the routine. I recently made a lot of changes to make the routine look clean. But if the girls keep missing practice and don't care about their team, they will not be doing as well as they think. Everyone will have an excuse some way or the other. Can't wait til the competition in San Fran! See everyone there!

and your point was....... First of all I am not from the sac area or else I would not be asking for suggestions, so your comment was unnessary.I commute to my gym and wanted to get some other options!which is just an honest question considering I have followed protocal up to this point. I am not bashing the gym.  I would like to find a place that the gym as a whole is more committed.  I might take that response from you as being either the owner or a coach at the gym.
but thank you to whomever suggested the other gyms.

Well you have 7 other options in Sacramento if you already go to one of the gyms on the list. I hope you find a match.

Not sure what area you are from or if you are commuting to Sacramento, but I would also recommend Cheer Odyssey which is in Stockton, they picked up a lot of previous 720 cheerleaders when 720 closed.
