This is really a hard one!!

If (and only if) our gym closed...After much mourning, I would have to say Airborne.

I have a thing for checking other teams' tumbling techniques and injuries.  I know that may seem mean-spirited, but if over 25% of a team is wearing braces, I start to think that maybe they are being pushed when it comes to skills. Airborne seems to have some of the fewest injured kids on the floor, and the skills thrown are done with good technique - not looking like they are thrown before a girl is truly ready.

(Otherwise, we wouldn't leave Cheergyms if you paid us!!)

Yeah, we have about 6 girls from our gym who are probably heading their way next year too. I wonder if we are from the same gym?

This is our first year at Odyssey.... 2 words.....  LOVE IT!  It was tough to make the choice to try a different gym, but we don't regret it for a sec.  Good luck to everyone and I hope you have a great year.smile

It's good to hear so many good things about Cheer Odyssey!!  It's our 4th year there my daughter started when she was 4.  I cannot see myself ever going to a different gym.  They make all the cheerleaders and parents feel like family there and would do anything for us!!

If we had the opportunity to go to POWER we would in a second.  THeir teams continue to dominate year after year, it is hard to argue with success.  We are at a smaller gym and we are happy there but we're limited because of the size, meaning we can only go so far.  It would be hard to pass up the opportunity to go to a gym that has placed as high as they have in Worlds.

I started with Cheer Odyssey back in 2003 without knowing a single thing about cheer/gymnastics, and through the help of my coaches; Linette Burila, Char Hernandez, and Sheldon Gibson, I've made myself to be a legit all-around level 5 cheerleader-- thanks :)

Seriously, I made CA Bullets large coed 5(4th in the world) this summer, stayed through camp with James Speed, met all the great cheerleaders that there are from all over(Fame, Cheer Athletics, Kentucky Elite, Louiville, and even Top Gun)-- and realized where my place was-- even if Odyssey isn't guaranteed World's on my VERY LAST year at this level--- It's where I belong.

The decision of what team I'd want to be in Northern California isn't hard-- I've been to other gyms, I've seen what they have to offer, and what most seem to lack is the personal connection-- a family bond that's for real-- not made up.

youtube or myspace me if you want-- search my name.

I think that can be said for every gym. I cheer at POWER and came from another gym and I would NEVER go back to that gym. To each their own. Each gym fits the needs of their own athletes. I have found POWER to be the best place for me. I love my teammates and my coaches. That does not mean that I dont think cheergyms.com, AP, Co and other gyms are great too. Anyways, just my two cents.... off to practice.

Jared, thats awesome, You are too legit to quit!!!! I lnow I am bring corny. But seriously Stef absolutely LOVES YOU. I know with your help she will continue to improve. It is amazing how far an athlete can come when in the right enviornment. I totally agree with Jen about the atmosphere at CO. Everyone really has made us feel welcome. All of the coaches have pushed Stefanie to learn and try things that she never knew she could do.
