Northen Cali Level 4's

I've been hearing good things about level 4 jrs and srs in Northern Cal. Odyssey, Pyramids, Airbourne to name a few. Anyone else know anything? I can't wait to see some of these teams. Lev 4 is my favorite. Divas always bring it along with CX and Ultimate should have a good 4 team or two!
And obviously POWER. Can anyone finally touch them?

We're only 3 months away. Let's get the discussion going! Here are my predictions.

Level 4 favorites:
Power
Airbourne
Odyssey
Divas

Level 4 possible surprises:
Ultimate
Royal
Rebels Elite
Nor Cal

Pacific Coast beat Power Senior 4 team 2 times last year. They beat them in Vegas at Jamz and in Los Angeles at Jamfest and Starstruck beat them in Sacramento at Americas Best, I think there was one more but I am not sure they might have only lost 3 times in Level 4 last year. So I think they can be reached. There are many teams out there that are extremly talented. I think Power has some great teams, but I don't think they are untouchable.

All Star Elite is a program that does not get mentioned enough, They took first in Anaheim against West Coast Mavericks and Cheergyms. So I am pretty sure they will do great this season.

I really think that NCE is really going to surprise alot of people this year.
Too bad we won't see an AP Senior 4 or 720 this year. I really enjoyed watchin them perform.

Starstruck I think doesn't get enough credit they are a great team. They might surprise us this year.

Cheergyms teams are always excellent. I don't know if they have Level 4 teams this year, but I know if they do we can expect great things.

There is going to be some stiff competition from some gyms out there that do not field Level 5 teams. Thats all for now!

Airborne has a Small Senior 5 , Large Senior 4, Small Senior 3 and Small Senior 2, Mini 1 and Youth 1 this year.  We are excited to field these teams!  Goodluck everyone!

I enjoy watching Junior and Senior Level 4's as well.  Last year I was very impressed with Pacific Coast, I'm looking forward to seeing what they put together this year since they are fairly new.  Other impressive level 4's were POWER and Starstruck.  I can't remember if Airborne had a level 4 or level 5 last year, I also thought they were 5.

But every year is different... new talent, new skills.  It's impossible to predict who will do well before the season starts, someone have a crystal ball we don't know about?

Abby,

I totally agree with you.  Stating who you think will stand out as the victors only puts added pressure on the kids.  Competition is great but the summer is for building skills and gaining confidence not questioning who is going to be the best.

Thank you for your post Nicole, that was exactly the point I was trying to make.  Let's wait until after the first few competitions before we start listing favorites and possible surprises.  It's fine to list who you enjoyed watching and who you think did well last year, but come October it's a new season and a fresh start for everyone.  I can't wait, it can't get here soon enough!   smile.gif

We are at the end of July, I would hope that gyms had their teams by now. That gives them roughly 3 months to create routines. I don't think its so much of a not knowing their teams, its a matter of some gyms not wanting other gyms to know what teams they have, whisper.gif which seems silly to me. I think it makes other gyms work harder when they know exactly who they are going to be competing against. Instead of what some people think that once some powerhouse gyms announce what teams they have that all the other teams are going to create different teams just to avoid the divisions the powerhouse teams are in.

Cheermama, from a handful of websites I looked at, some well known highly respected gyms are still taking new members, so I think it's very reasonable not to know what level you'll be competing at yet this time of year.  At our gym we are shooting for particular levels, but they can change any time before competitions start, and it will have more to do with what talent they can put on the floor than what other gyms are doing.

Will Pyramids and Motions have level 5 teams as well?

Wow I tell you I have been out of the loop. Last year almost every team in our area had their teams finalized yes 1 or 2 kids might get added but I didn't think it would change the whole composure of the teams. Oh well thats what I get for taking a year off of Level 5. HAHAHA I am no longer in the know

As Mikaila said, the All American Program (formed with Cheergyms.com, AP, and CSE kids) will be the level 5 teams. Pyramids and Motions will only have levels 1-4.

Not only is it fair, it's been in practice by east coast and southern teams for years.

i also think its a great idea besides being practical.

all american will allow more opportunities for northern california atheletes to compete at the advanced level. I'm really excited to see what all american will put together and i'm really proud to say they're a culmination of awesome northern california talent!!

as far as the original post, level 4 has always been one of my favorite divisions to watch. I loved watching swat, starstruck, pyramids, and power last season because each of them displayed distinct styles that reflected each gyms creative persona. I also love level 4 because u get to see a larger variety of baskets, whereas level 5 typically consists of kick doubles (don't get me wrong i love em but after the 500th one it gets a little bit predictable).

this year odyssey is fielding 9 teams plus 2 dance, and most of them are in atleast the 1st quarter of their choreo. All of us here at the gym are really excited to push the bar since we've just recently broke into new divisions; we are definitely anticipating competition season to arrive.

is anyone fielding junior 4's?

our comets are stepping up a division or 2 with junior 4/5, and can't wait to show off their new crop uniforms! sparkles glitz and glamour for sure, is anyone else getting new uniforms this year?
