My daughters school, Mission Viejo High School went to Dallas, TX and are there right now! I have their schedule in front of me and these girls go go go from 8 am till 8:30 pm! They do things like Team Esteem, Jump Class, Cheer Class, Stunt Class, Chant and Crowd Involvement, Basket Builders, Game Day Expo, All-American Tryouts, Buddy Time, Spirit Sticks and more!!!
Em called me last night and told me she sprained her ankle. But she couldn't have sounded happier!!! I was just relieved it wasn't her knee again and since we've been thru the knee injury since she was 8, she knows the ankle thing isn't bad. I wouldn't be surprised to hear if she was tumbling all day today!!!
So she tells me that this NCA camp is incredible and they are busy from the moment they wake up till they hit the pillow! They did line dancing, firework watching and steak eating on the 4th then went to bed. I've heard from her for 2 minutes in 2 days cause she just doesn't have time to talk!!! Now THAT'S what I like to hear!!!

Varsity Song didn't go and neither did the other teams. It was just for cheer. The second morning, Em jumped and rolled her ankle really badly and still can't walk. Her ankle is all purple and swollen still and she's off of it for 4 to 6 weeks. She couldn't have planned her timing any better. She just missed out on all of the fun!!!! Oh well.....

You are so funny. It's ankle weather!!! Thank goodness it's cooled off a bit!!!! I was at the gym yesterday to take pictures. It was a strange feeling to know everyone yet not having been there for so long!!!! Thinking about you makes me want Starbucks for some strange reason!!!!

It was on the hard floor but she was getting off of someones shoulders. Em doesn't tumble on the hard floors. She has knee and back issues. Camp is for learning and fun, not to show off. You show off during competition. Thanks for the concern!!!! She's doing great!!!

Oh thats good. Its always seems like its not the tumbling that does it for our girls either. The oldest was from being a base for 10 years and all the sudden she had a tendon in her elbow give out so bad that she couldnt even write for a year cut her senior year of high school cheer out completley. The younger one has problems with tendons in her calf and ankle causing her to have no stability anymore and has to have corrective surgery but the doctor couldnt get her in till the beggining of the school year and she is starting at a new school so we will have to wait till next summer oh well her well being is more important to me then cheer is and she would have been a wreck going to school after surgery and missing the first three months of the new school year at a new school she was freaking out so we told her to wait and have it done next summer.
Yea, all of Em's injuries were doing something simple. The very FIRST one was during her actual stunting when she was really young. But every one after that was from walking up stairs, cartwheel, trampoline, etc. Simple things. But now, it's #2 for this particulr ankle, so it looks like she's got one bum knee and one bum ankle. And on different legs! lol
She's totally bummed cause tonight we are going to a party for a friend who is filming for that MTV show MY SWEET 16. It's this HUGE HUGE ordeal!!! It's a jungle theme, in Laguna Beach, live jungle animals, two big names in music performing (I have no idea who they are but the kids do), a seperate floor for the adults, blah blah blah.... But she's sooooo bummed cause she can't wear heels. Her ankle is so bad and it hurts. Hey, at least she's not on crutches and will be able to dance a little. Keep an eye out for it on MTV. The girls name is Savannah Winn and her party is at 7 Degrees in Laguna Beach. I will let you know how it goes.

i am just adding to how simple it is to get injured now let me say i think i just have BAD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!! i was doing a cartwheel and my schoulder dislocated i was stretching my arm and it popped out and then popped out like 14 times after that its crazy teens bodys as they grow up are so vonrible just last month i was walking at night and tripped fell adn and am on cruthches now they might even have to scope it so yeah i am not allowed to cheer at all forever it really stinks!!! just sharing my horror storys ahhhh the good old ER vists i really hope thosse are gone
Gosh I'm really sorry to hear that. You really do have bad luck. Maybe god has you planned for something bigger and better. You have to try and put it all into perspective and try to see a silver lining. We know its tough because we are and have gone through it. Good luck to you.
For Bladez we did a camp in house. We brought in April Weaver & John Cronin. The kids loved them! For High School, my daughter leaves next weekend, they are going to UC Irvine. I think it's NCA that is hosting it, but I'm not sure (shame on me)!
