We just got back from a Baja cruise. We took the Monarch of the Seas into Ensenada, San Diego, and Long Beach we really enjoyed it. I got really sunburned though, I usually don't burn. My girls really enjoyed it, it was time away from Mom and Dad they hung out in the Adventure Ocean area of the ship and did some fun activities. Ahh but now its back to the daily grind of work. I just keep telling myself 10 more years, 10 more years!!!
Cheermama -- did you do the 4 day (during the week) or the 3 day (over the weekend). I know the over the weekend ones tend to be "party central" ... We love to cruise, been doing it now for 7 years, but I would only do a 7 day or longer -- just because I have been on some of those 3 day-ers and the groups start drinking in the parking lot.
We did the 4 day. It was our first time cruising and I didn't know how I would do with so much time on the ship. Next time we are going on the 7 days. We really enjoyed it!!! I want to do one out of Galveston that goes to the Caribbean
Well friends we are back from our Alaskan cruise and it was wonderful if you ever think about going on a cruise this is definetley without a doubt the most breath taking cruise you will ever take just awsome I hope everyone else has had a great summer talk to you later
My daughter and I did the Alaskan cruise a few years ago. It was so beautiful! We did the 7 day cruise, but I'd like to go longer next time. I came back feeling so rested and refreshed. It's worth it to go. However, smaller kids might get bored. My daughter was 10 and I think that was pushing the limit with her. Luckily the Olsen twins were there, so she was thrilled. I had to make her get off the ship to see the sights. She was so afraid she would miss the Twins! i convinced that they were sight seeing also..... I've done the 4 day Mexican cruise twice. Once with hubby and the second time on Carnival for my best friends Bachlorette party. Had a great time,,,,,,but too much partying and laughter left me exhausted when we returned. Cruises are great cuz everything's included (except Alcohol, gambling and gifts).....and you get pampered! My favorite part!!!!
Yeah I agree with the younger ones it really depends on the cruise lines and what they do to keep them occupied. We did the Bahama cruise years ago when my oldest was 5 years old and she had a blast but I think it has alot to do with the counslers watching over them. Good move on the Olsen twins sight seeing!! We are doing our first trans atlantic cruise next July through Norwegian NCL they have a new one that does the british isles 13 days 11 ports pretty excited about that one. If it goes well I want to do the Greek islands.
Who knew we had such cruisers out there. I have a great message board for all things about cruising. They have a ton of people that post to it and you can get so much information and tips for excursion picking, reviews on ships, which cabin, pre-cruise info, you name it. Just personal email me and i will send it to whoever wants it. I am a total cruise affeciando!
Done the houston trip with NCL -- LOVED it, went Belize (climbed a Mayan ruin), Hondorous, Cozumel, Jamaica. Plus it was over Christmas(12 days). That was fun. How to bring Santa on a cruise ship. Done the eastern carribean (long time ago). Done Mexico, 3 and 7 day. Done Hawaii (before NCL brought in their American flag ships). Doing Western Carribean again this summer, AND we just signed up for a 12 day Northern Europe (Norway) next June. I've been waiting 10 years to go back to Europe. Danielle is finally old enough to manage the trip.
Can you tell -- I value my vacations -- I think its important no matter where you go to just go and get away from everything for at least 1 week a year.
Send it to me. We are going Sept 10. And any ideas you have are great!!! One question I have is, how do we take advantage of that advance tipping thing where we pay one fee to cover them all?

LadyW..You're a Pro!! Wow!!! Can you send me that Cruise message board? I'd love to check it out. Has anyone done a Family Reunion on a cruise? We're thinking of doing one in a couple of years........that way, no one cooks, and no one has to clean up and a different port everyday! And there's plenty to do for all ages......
