Gym Closed

Well guys, Reign didn't make it. Last night we were told that it's over. I feel sooooooo bad for some of the kids who don't have any other choices now. One girl didn't try out for her HS team and another left OC to be there and now she can't go back. (didn't burn bridges but the kids wouldn't be too understanding) So it's just a mess.

Em still has Mission HS, so that's good. She's not out, totally. Oh weell. What can you do?

Oh, that's a bummer! It has to be really tough to start of a gym in the expensive So Cal region. Sorry, to hear. Good luck with the high school cheerleading!

Oh no! I'm so sorry that it didn't work out. Are you going to go back to OC or a different All-Star gym?

Oh no --- I feel so bad. Maybe those girls can still go to another all-star gym. I know what its like to have to sit out an entire season. I saw it on the dance end this year. A studio we know cancelled their competitve team in Oct. Way too late for any of those girls to go to other studio teams. It completely killed their season, and if you were a soloist (competiting individual) sitting out 1 season is not good.

--- They can always come over to the dance end of all-star. We will teach them! We even have hip-hop... Plug plug, nudge nudge, wink wink..... :)

Well, that's the funny thing about it all. I was working for the other gym almost full time, but as soon as we left, I was relieved of my "duties" and so now I'm not sure if it was on good terms or not. I was going to still do the stuff I was doing, for free. But I was told that I wasn't needed anymore.

Either way, my job is what paid for her tuition and now I wouldn't get that kind of consideration, I just couldn't afford it. So we are out now. Probably forever. She's just going to have to do high school from now on. I'm sure she will miss all star cheer but I don't have a choice. We just can NOT afford it. 7 years and it's over. Kinda sad.

That is sad I'm so sorry. Is it possible to talk to the owner of the Gym and see if you could go back with the old terms? Might be worth a try unless you think they are not the type to bend. Either way we feel for you thats too bad. We hope you continue to come to the comps though especially do not leave this web site it would never be the same without you!

oh no thats horrible! Im sure the gym would love to have you back. I agree with cheer parent, talk to them!!! Or what about another gym, there are so many options out there! I bet even another gym would definitly have you come back on those terms. Don't give up, especially because em loves all star cheer so much :)

Sorry to hear that it didn't work out for you, your daughter or the second gym. I want to jump on the "talk to them" bandwagon. I could see a gym maybe not wanting you to work with them if your daughter was attending a different gym. It's worth a shot!

Oh yes, I am the QUEEN of fundriaising. I thought about it. But I am currently fundraising for her HS team and that's quite enough right now. I just can't take on fundraising for a full tuition for an all star gym at the moment. We still have time. I figure that july would be the latest she could join an all star gym if she still wanted to. She's just doing quite enough with the end of school, high school cheer and two jobs. So I'm letting it be for right now.

PLUS, I finally got a car after my accident just this week. I don't want to have to jump in to driving 40 minutes 3 X a week just yet.

Besides, I don't think her old gym would be too happy to see us walk thru the door after her trying out another gym just a week ago. I think things would need to settle. There was enough dust from all of this mess to make it a bit cloudy at the moment.

Hey Kris,

You always bounce back... so "No Worries" everything will work out as it always has!! You will do what works best for your family, as long as EM is busy and handling her academics everything will fall in place.

Love you girl!

When you get a chance you must send me all those great shots you took of the kids that I looked at while we were at dinner the last time I was there.

OC will love you and welcome you back when you are ready...you are a great family of folks...they can never turn their backs on you guys...

I'll call you later

Cyn

OC Mom,

What happened to the coaches that were starting the new gym? They were originally from OC right? Do they have a place to coach this year or are they out for the year too?

Worlds Watcher,

I wondered the same thing too...but then when really thinking about it I cant imagine any gym owner hiring them in that area.  Obviously they have plans to leave and potentially take business from the gym they work at.  You know what I mean?

They started this gym along with two people that weren't affiliated with OC, but the high schools here don't allow kids to do both. My daughters school is the only one. They aren't looking to get into another cheer gym. They have other cheer businesses outside of coaching. This was just a way to KEEP coaching cause they love it. But they aren't out of jobs by no means.

I could see where you would think that though.

Thanks for the support everyone. It's been rough being without a gym. and no one has emailed me or said anything other than my friends that I still talk to. I'm not saying they are ignoring me or anything, but no offers have come our way. But it's ok. Em still has the OC coaches as her coaches for Mission. We shall see how that pans out.

Hey, it's just cheer, right???
