I don't understand the rivalry either. I cheer for a high school comp squad here in elk grove. I have friends from both gyms, and they are constantly badmouthing each other. It is like this everywhere? I hope not.
It's comments like these that keep the pot stirred.
It would be best that you not give any credit to either side for the "badmouthing". Try to say true to your team and not get involved. The less attention that is given to the negatives the better.
It can be. Everyone basically believes that their gym is the best. And that's good actually. It keeps you happy thru the rough times. But it takes a bigger (and more mature) person to say, "Well, I think they did a great job." I encourage everyone to try it once. You may get a strange look at first but they'll get the hint, trust me.
You know, it's always easier to hate than love. When you open yourself up to others, you also have to understand their views and beliefs. And some people just don't want to make the effort. The sad part is, they lost out on friendships that could last a lifetime.
I've made so many friends on this message board! And I didn't even have to tell everyone that MY KID IS THE BEST ONE AND MY GYM IS BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSES!! hehehehehehehehe
Well, I'm just biased.
Maddiekate, let me know if you are competing in So Cal in HS. Wouldn't it be cool if you competed against my daughters team???
