Actually POWER is in Rocklin. Very deep in Rocklin, past North Sacramento, past Roseville, then Rocklin. And the other POWER is in Modesto, not Stockton.

omg ! I was the one looking for a gym in the elk grove area, I joined one and made the wrong choice. now I cant change because we signed a contract.

I have checked both Royals, UCF and Power, SO I am sure it is neither of those gyms.  UCF is run by one OWNER, Power is run by John ( he is amazing) Royals is run by a Board of Directors and not owners.  I wish you the best of luck.

I also wanted to mention.  There is only one Gym in Elk Grove.  It doesnt seem fair because their gym owner is not here to defend or clarify him or herself.  We really should be carefull about attempting to implicate gyms by telling the area.  This is supposed to be anonymous thus, naming the city that there is only one gym in kind of names the gym.  All gyms have parents who get upset and sometimes that gym does not work for them.  This doesnt mean it is okay to lash out at the gyms.  If you are unhappy then you should definatly leave because you dont want to be somewhere you are not happy.  But to lash out at gyms publically does not seem to be fair in my eyes.  I definately wish you the best of Luck Noisy.   Just my thoughts.

There may only be one gym physically in Elk Grove but there are two that say they are from ELk Grove. Us and the Sacramento Royal All Stars who were even in the local Elk Grove Western Festival parade last weekend. They also sometimes list themselves from Elk Grove at competitions. So, Cheermeon, I agree with you, but I think like anything on here, we could all speculate for days and your post actually pointed the finger more than any other.

To be honest it was never even a thought to me that it could be our gym. floating.gif

Just as a heads up.  They annouced Franklin Jr. Wildcats as winners of the parade.  Do they have this listed incorrectly

This isn't anonymous. Not any more. And I don't think he/she is lashing out. Advice was asked for. No gym was named and since no one knows what gym is being spoken of, I guess we aren't bashing anyone. And besides UCF IS here and representing themselves. I know one of the other gyms comes here also. Everyone has a chance to defend themselves but since we don't know who the gym is, i guess that's unnecessary.

Yes, it is correct.  The Franklin Jr Wildcats took 1st in the junior division.

UCF took first in the senior division. smile

Awww, when did this change to become a personal issue between two gyms?

My very own observation here (and with passed issues on this board) there seems to be quite a rival between the two Elk Grove gyms.

It looks like both teams performed in the town's parade (in the passed it's been local competitions). And there were awards handed out. Then the next couple of days on this website some one get on here and says something negative about the other gym.

The awards don't really matter. It's the kids that matter. I am sure that all the girls had lots of fun and it should stay at that level. It doesn't make a whole lot of since. I'm sure it's not the mentality of all the parents from either gym; it's probably just a couple. And I really hope this negativity isn't coming from a coach or any other person that may be influencing the cheerleader athletes.

It's just kinda silly that this subject turned in this direction.

The two gyms really need to come to a new level of acceptance of one another.

Uh ohhh.. see what happens when I get on the board past my bed time sleepy.gif

UCF Mom, I think you have done a great job speaking so positively about your gym.  That's the way it should be.  I enjoy reading your posts, you really do love your gym. heart.gif

Thanks Cheer 411, that was nice. To be honest, I have seen a lot of things in our gym and the gyms around us and it makes me really thankful for the gym we are at, the wonderful parents we have and the great owners.

The way I see it, we all lay out a lot of money so our kids can participate, do we really need to be the ones dragging it down for them with petty rivalries and fights at competitiions?

Our gym from what I have been able to see over the years really tries to take the high road and to teach our girls and our parents to do so as well.

Hey.. I just noticed that I am a veteran member now - go me!!!

What does it take to get to Senior memeber or heaven forbid GURU!!!

I agree It is best that everyone focuses on the children.  They are what matters.  I like both gyms.

Good for y'all!

You are so right that competitive cheerleading is expensive.   It's so important that the parents are happy and, of course, the cheerleaders are happy.

It sounds like you found the perfect situation for you and your cheerleader.

I don't understand the rivalry either. I cheer for a high school comp squad here in elk grove. I have friends from both gyms, and they are constantly badmouthing each other. It is like this everywhere? I hope not.
