NEXT SEASON!

*****
Our team practices start today, and I couldn't be happier! I missed everyone! We do summer practice groups too, it just seems to be easier but I can see where it could be harder to move people down.

Sometimes, there are girls placed on higher level teams, but if they don't get a certain skill by a set date, they get moved down.

well, she just got a sidekick after having a junk phone with only 75 minutes for a year. so we upped it to a better phone, 300 minutes (which is really 500 but she doesnt know that) and unlimited texts and web, so she's being real good.

I am CONSISTANTLY talking to her about what she "has" versus what we used to have. and trust me, we have about NOTHING before me moved down here. the only thing she had then was cheer and Motions. So she's really grateful for stuff and tries to be good for the most part. Plus, when she starts to get sassy, I just remind her....

The week she was off, she tested me, rolling her eyes at me, snipping at me.... and after about 4 days I told her that she acted 15 for 4 days and that was enough for me. That was it. then I emailed her cheer coach, told him it was ALL HIS FAULT for taking a break and threatened to drop her off at his door. I have a feeling he probaby threatened her too.... hehehehe

So chores are the one thing that she knows she can do to earn "points" in my book. PLUS, I'm sick and hurt AND Mothers Day is coming. Trust me, she's just making brownie points.... it will end right around January when she's competing on two teams and stressed. then we will argue till April and she will do the tub again.... lmao

Can I take this opportunity to say that this is one of my favorite commercials ever?

And the worst part of it all is, I know most of the lingo for texting as well since I text my daughter and her friends all the time!!! hehehehe

Lmao, I have never seen that before if that isnt so true lol. I'm still laughing. omg! That is why my kid isnt getting that option because we went through that with our oldest. So you know what she did she spent her own money and bought a phone with her own money that gave texting I guess she really wanted it that bad!!! I still dont get it. What ever happened to good old conversations. I think our children are going to grow up not having good interpersonal relationship skills eventually. Not knowing how to speak to someone escpecially in public. I think "My Space is another bad example of communitcation". I causes more trouble then its worth. Oh here I go again I'm Babbling ok i'll stop> Lol

OMG I couldn't agree with you more. My kids are old enough that this is still fairly "new" as we wouldn't let them have cell phones until 8th grade and text messaging until High School, but these younger ones! Even my kids get disgusted when they see 8 - 10 year olds with cell phones. HOWEVER, it's getting pretty bad at my house especially when they are on "My Space", IM & Text messaging all at once...maybe I should consider it multi-task training?????? I finally had to crack down and say - NO TEXT MESSAGING during meals. We never get to spend time together with our cheer schedule, I would at least like their undivided attention when we do sit down together!

You know it's bad when you have to IM your child when she's in her room to get her attention. Now mind you, her room is downstairs, but it's just easier for me to IM her when I need something. But she does respond though.... lmao

Yes it is sad. When did things change? I got lost in the transition. Kids now a days are so much more advanced when it comes to technology but sometimes the technology is too easily accessable and I'm afraid that there are predators waiting to delude our kids with bad ideas and its so hard to control. You want to give them the freedom but its the not knowing what there getting into that bothers me most.

You are so right but when we were kids, our parents had the same worries about us. Just different issues.... remember when the Beatles were bad??? And Elvis was poisoning the youth? Yea, things will work itself out. But only if parents quit being so submissive to their kids and become parents again...

Thats it in a nutshell. Whats bad is I see a trend where the parents are not in control anymore and parental direction is going away. For this we are seeing alot of out of control children making bad decisions and its usually because they do not have strong parental supervision. What ever happen to strong moral/family values they are going by the way side? I know personally I couldnt handle that behavior in our home but I see it in others and its very disturbing I guess I cant fix the whole world just my own!

Cheer Parent you are so right, all we can do is concentrate on our own and teach them how we want them to behave in the world!
