This is great!!! I have a brother with downs syndrom, and i know exactlly what this guy is talking about. Everyone needs to be educated and Thank you Jodi for posting this..

This is perfect Jodi thanks for posting. I CRINGE when I hear people use the "R" word.

When I was 18 my friends and I used to say the "R" word, not to put anyone down, but just because it was part of our vocabulary like "Cool", "Rad", etc.....then one day I used it in front of one of my co-workers. She looked me in the eye and asked me "What if I told you that I have a sister who is mentally retarded?".....at first I thought she was joking. Then I realized that she wasn't and in fact, she did have a sister who was mentally retarded. I wished right then and there that the ground would swallow me up...I was so embarrassed! I never used that word again after that. So be careful what you say cuz you never know who might hear.

wow.. that word comes out of my friends and my own mouth alot...that just made me think twice about saying it again.. thanks jodi for posting that up =)
