i don't think i am ignorant because i want to wear a gang symbol on my shirt. i want to wear a shirt that seriously will be one that EVERYONE will want to trade for. it'll be the cheer athletics shirt of last year (my bro DERICK knows the owner n hooked me up with 1, my twin traded for one too). i mean the design is unique it really just blows other shirts away.
i havent responded to jenny's comment because i dont want to say something that would make me immature or IGNORANT, but i'd like to know what makes me ignorant? is it the fact that i am not going to let a gang dictate the clothes i wear? or the fact that im not going to run away in fear because other people are? over a shirt? in my opinion this is an over assumpition. there are more important things to worry about than a shirt. are you and your daughter (or son possibly) even going to worlds?
i am not being rude i am just saying i like the shirt, im getting the shirt, im wearing the shirt, and i am going to look soo good in it. :)
oc mom the funniest part of you saying you would wear it to the mall is that when i first saw it, the first thing that came to my mind is "theres a cheer shirt i would wear anywhere!" haha and in fact i probably will.
p.s. dont worry i'll keep protection in my competition pants at the competition just in case those boys from kentucky elite, top gun, or even mickey mouse wanna get loud with me. lol. because i'm ignorant
I think perhaps this shirt kinda touched a nerve. Never knowing an individual's personal experience, it is really hard to make accurate judgements about a person's motivations. Whenever I see someone with a strong opinion that obviously has emotion behind it, I try to consider that there may be a history that creates the emotion. I know i have my triggers. I seriously doubt anyone here ment to offend, but that never stops people from being offended, does it? LOL I hope nobody is HURT. It's cool cali peeps are together on a shirt, that is what I think!!! Can't wait for worlds!!!
Jenny, we love you very much. Your opinion is yours and if you feel a certain way, then you are not wrong. Your opinion isn't hurting anyone and if I happen to disagree or agree with you, it doesn't change the fact that I LOVE IT when you post here and am happy to call you my friend.
Please always remember that.....
My mom always had this saying posted over her desk at work...
"People who think they know it all, really annoy the rest of us who do."
hehehehehehe
As for Little Miss California, you ARE little. You will always be little to me. It's cause you're so damn cute. I always call people little when I care for them. I heard it once on the movie, Lorenzos Oil, I believe. The little boy called his dad, My Little Daddy. It doesn't matter how big you are, you're always little and cute to those who love you. Now, when I call Dan little, he sayd, "HEY HEY HEY, THAT'S NOT S,OMETHING WE TELL EVERYONE. " HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE
OC mom, I don't know it all. I just know that I don't want anyone getting hurt by wearing a stupid shirt! (not that the shirt itself is stupid, but the fact that someone could get hurt over a shirt...). I've known a lot of people who were effected by gangs and yes, I am VERY emotional about it. I just don't think Danny or John would feel great about a child being shot because they were wearing a shirt they created. I was just putting up a warning. I'm not here to change anyone's opinion on the shirt, nor am I here to tell anyone NOT to wear it.
Alex, I have a lot to say, but I'm not going to say it. And no, my daughter is not going to worlds. But that doesn't make you better than us. My daughter is only 6!!! I just care and am looking out for you!
in no way does it make me better than you, nor do i think it does. i find myself driving with 2 hours on a wednesday for the sole purpose of hanging out with one of power's tiny teams. I'm not even on power. i could care less who's better.
I was curious as to if you were going to worlds because the shirt is made for worlds, i doubt john or danny are trying to make a profit off of the shirts, they are probably just being good people and doing something to bring cali together at worlds, so whether you buy one or not makes no difference. these shirts are for worlds, your not going, so why bother??
i don't mean to be so negative on it, i just feel really strongly on this topic. i'm just not the kind of person that hides in fear
haha i'll see whats going on with bryan. he's busy getting ready for worlds and then moving. kyle is sleeping right now. he reads posts every once in a while, but doesnt really post on here.
i know my lol and ttyl but wuts OT?? wait nevermind. got it: off topic.
It's really nice to hear from you again Alex. It's ok to feel strongly about something. I am positive that Jenny didn't mean any negativity towards anything other than someones safety or lack of it. And for that, I commend her for coming here and putting her thoughts out for everyone to see, and comment AGAINST. It's not always the thing to do when you don't think like the majority, but that is EXACTLY what I am teaching my 15 year old to do. Stand up against things you don't think are right. (right now, that's shoplifiting, vandalisim thru toilet papering people homes, and more that is popular with the kids her age right now)
No one is ignorant for not KNOWING the facts. One is ignorant for IGNORING the facts. And the fact is, gang life is out there and not a pretty thing. So if we use caution when we are away from home, then that is the smart thing to do.
I am POSITIVE that was Jenny's intention.
Best of luck to you at Worlds. I am sure California will represent us well and we will be at home cheering you on EVERY STEP OF THE WAY!!!
PS. NOTE TO PARENTS..... IT IS ILLEGAL TO TOILET PAPER SOMEONES HOME. AND IF YOU DRIVE THEM, YOU ARE JUST THE GET AWAY CAR. I have no idea where anyone thinks that this is OK. Just so you know.......

Thank You for making an alternative shirt for us who don't get the art, don't care for the gesture, or are afraid to wear the shirt, we appreciate you. I am from an older crowd and the alternative shirt is more up my alley! I will be ordering a couple of the new shirts and thanks again for all your hard work!!
OC mom- My dad was a cop outside of Chicago, I hated it!! Well, as a youngster I did. I could not do anything because everyone new my dad or my mom. Both moved to Naperville when they were 10 and my mom was also a realtor (and a flight attendant first). As I got older-thinking driving times and beyond-I LOVED my dad being a cop. He's retired now but there are still perks!

When my kids were young my neighbor and I would let each others kids T.P. our houses during our kids slumber parties. We wouldn't tell the kids that we knew about it and it was very fun. One night when it was our turn to T.P. the cop's drove by and stopped to ask me if I was cleaning up ? I proudly told, "Ummm nope were just gettin started." He looked at me like I was crazy until I filled him in on Our little secret. LOL
It's funny how we went from Worlds T-shirt to tp'ing, but since we did ... years ago when my son was younger he was at a sleepover and the group decided to tp a house (good clean fun they thought) but they were caught and my son had to do community service. I knew back then times had indeed changed! We had our house tp'd just once, but it took us months to finally get it out of the trees; I think it rained shortly afterwards which didn't help.

Yes, Cheermom Ltd, you're very correct when you say that some things may touch a nerve. This one topic certainly touched my "nerve". When you have picked up more than one 15 or 16 year old kid whose brain was blown away because a "rival gang" didn't like what they were wearing, oh yeah, it gets to you alright. I wasn't offended by the shirt, but it set off "red flags" for me, and raw emotions. I try not to be "paranoid", but I do take precautions whenever I can, and teach my children the same. I am also in agreement with Jenny.......I think she is a caring person and was voicing her concerns. Thank you Jenny!!! I do appreciate all the work that went into the shirt, but I won't buy it either. I am, however, buying the other shirt that displays the California flag, I will wear it with pride!! Can't wait for Worlds!!
Very funny California - I thought it was you. Now instead of tp'ing all of Simi Valley, maybe you should be resting your back so that we can have a rockin time at Worldz - love you
