Congrats to POWER and Fierce.  I don't have scores/results from Sunday, hopefully someone will post soon.  I like the way Jamz takes the best score from both days instead of averaging them in.  Teams have bad days, we've all had them.  It's nice when you can get a fresh start the next day without having your horrible day averaged in.  A perfect example of that is Heart of Texas... they had a pyramid completely fall apart on Saturday.   I like that a very good team can have a fresh start the next day, instead of their score being the equivalent of two mediocre routines that were in their division.  I like to see talent and difficulty rewarded over the simple safe routines.

I was very impressed with Pacific Coast's teams; they're an awesome gym that we don't hear much about.  OC's teams did very well on Saturday, haven't heard how they did on Sunday.  Fierce's fan base is amazing, you could probably hear them from outside the arena!

Jamz allowed videotaping (a good thing) but it cost $28 per day to get in (bad).  They should at least have some 2 or 3-day specials.  Overall it was a fun and entertaining competition.

Hope we hear more from others!

Way to go!  Loved seeing all the level 5 teams this weekend.  POWER small is probably the best team of 20 girls I have seen in a long time.  Good luck in the Worlds events.

Sportsmanship at this competition was amazing!  This is a tribute to all the teams that were in attendance!  Hats off to everyone!

Yes, the $28.00 admission per day was difficult to handle.  I would have loved to return each day to watch other performances (not just the day my daughter performed).  However, the cost turned me away.

here are the standings for the bid race after Saturday night

1. Power Large
Power Small (already has a paid)
2. Fierce
3. Galaxy and Stars Extreme
4. Macs Stars
5. Encore
6. Supreme Cheer
7. West Coast Extreme
8. A & J all stars
9. Cheer Odyssey
10. Swat
11. Heart of Texas
12. Cheers
...

So on day 2 Heart of Texas must of kicked axx if they went from 11th to 4th or 5th highest score to get that At Large Bid! Can I just say WOW. Have heard of any competition where you are in 11th and can move up to top 5? This says alot about how each competitions scoring system can make a big difference in results.

Does anyone know the final placements in the Level 5 divisions?

geez $28 dollars is pushing the envelope!! I too would like to check out all the other days for fun, but I see how that price would limit me attending other days.

At least the sportsmenship was great!!! I wish I could have been there.

OC MOM, were waiting for your return to hear about your wedding!!

Megan, Im waiting for that youtube! hahaha

Thanks again for the compliment!

And congrats Kris on your wedding!!!

Vegas was too much fun too handle. I must say that the best part, was not hving to wake up early! LOL. I met a few message board people I hadn't met before, that was exciting.

Small Senior was dominated by POWER. Their routine is freaaaaaking LOADED, not just GREAT, but LOAADDEDDD. Since the last time I saw them, they have added four toe touches to tuck and a pyramid with at least 3/4 inversion elements. They definitely dominated the competition, if you ask me. All so talented, in shape, and beautiful young girls. WOW. Still blown away by that Sunday performance. But remember John... "I'm a small fan lover anyway...." You silly goose, you're really out of your mind crazy. :) Their large was just as good, with four more stunt groups, or so... they're most impressive part of their routine is their pyramid. LOVE IT. Oh and.... "Tag team back again..." Love the dance section. :)
The other team I was impressed with was Galaxy Cheer Sr 5. They really are doing some good things with their program. They put together a pretty clean and skilled routine. They have grown alot during the last five years, I think they'll be someone to watch in upcoming years.
Stars Extreme looked pretty good this weekend, but had a lot of missed passes. I don't know why they always seem to have missed passes to me. Maybe I'm out of it. LOL.
Cheer Odyssey, this was the first time I saw you because I did not attend GSSA, and can I just say I'm THOROUGHLY obsessed with your dance section, it's awesome. Can I get someone to teach me please? It's great!
All of my team performed very well. Five solid routines. I'm so proud of my ladies. Our small senior 2 and 3 wanted to win so badly. I'm so glad their last performance together turned out to be such a good one!!! National Champions!!!!

MISS DIVA COACH MELISSA - It was so nice meeting you and hanging out with you and crazy John. LOL. He really was speaking Chinese to me. Hahahaha. And it was nice to see Kris, with her tiara on all weekend long, you're so beautiful Kris. You have a lucky hubby. It was nice to meet more POWER people, and trade shirts with your girls. I'll see you people at Jamfest this weekend!!! And maybe some of you at the American Showcase also. I'll be at both.

I'll post pictures and youtubes later!!!!

I have to say that this is probably some of the coolest stuff I've seen on this board. While the competition was great, some of the most fun things I saw were the way people from different gyms interacted with one another. At the competition I saw people greeting one another with hugs, and introducing one another. Outside the competition, after hours, you were guaranteed to find almost all the coaches from California hanging out together. It was awesome to see kids and adults alike having fun with their competitors! Hanging out and trading shirts, I love to see it. I think we might be able to say we've come a long way since the beginning of the season! This competition warmed my heart and gave me home that we're all headed the right way instead of being nasty to one another!

Hats off to good sportsmanship and being friendly rivals instead of enemies!

Congrats to all the teams that competed this weekend, and good luck at Worlds to those who got their bids! It should be amazing.

Day one, Cheer Odyssey stood in second place with an 84.9.

Day two, ugh, I don't want to get into it. Let's just leave it at that. Before deductions, we would've earned second place with an atlarge bid to Worlds with a 91.8 score beating Heart of Texas. Instead, we got an 88.3 and lost to Swat Allstars by .1. By the way, congratulations on your win Swat, Heart of Texas, and Starz.

There's always next year for Cheer Odyssey. The gym only accomplishes more and more each year. Keep your heads up everyone, our time will come.

I had a great time this weekend!

The competition was pretty well run, I have to say. Our only issue was with the music system when it screwed up our senior 3 music at the end, but Jamz handled it really well and we took the offered opportunity to perform again. It seemed like a lot of teams had issues with the music though.

The bid race was great. It was nice to be able to see the scores from each category and where everyone stood going into Sunday. Congratulations to all the teams that earned bids; I honestly haven't even looked at the list yet to see who got what, but I know all the top teams looked great both days.

Megan, it was great to meet you too and I had a blast all weekend. It's going to take a few days to catch up on sleep but it was worth it! I had such a great time.

Can't wait to see everyone again soon!

Yes, you're right Melissa. Rest is going to be the key for the next couple of days. I'm still exhausted. :) It was one of the most well run competitions I've been to this year. And alot of great sportsmanship that will never be forgotten. I must say I love California gyms.
