OK, OC Mom and Cheer watcher, since I'm a novice at this cheer thing, what's so scary and freaky about JamFest? This is my daughter's first JamFest comp. I've heard it's fun. They do a lot of activities for the kids. The BEST part, we get in for FREE. Thank goodness.
It's not that Jamfest itself is scary.... they have this giant, thing.... mascot, if you will, named Jammie that dances around. He's terrifying. I think they should have a poll on their website about Jammie... I think people would vote bye bye. He's kinda creepy. What is he?

Oh don't get me wrong. JamFest is totally a blast for the kids!!!!! It's like a carnival for them. I like when they have the blowup jumpy things. The kids play and play and play.
I don't know what it is about Jammie. You either love him or hate him. So many people love him, including my fiance. I just get freaked out by "things" where you don't know who's inside.
emily won't sit on Santa's lap cause she says,"Mom, he's just some man in a red suit. I wouldn't sit on some strangers lap and ask for candy, why would I do it with him?" I never thought if it that way either. And she's right. (she's 15 mind you, in case you didn't know. She's not 5)

Well a lot of the girls I talk to agree that Jammie is totally scary too. Some love him or her or it, others strongly dislike him. Jamfest comps are still fun though!
The younger kids in our gym had fun at Jamfest and enjoyed Jammie. I think Jamfest is a good competition to end with if you want something fun and not as competitive as other competitions (like American Showcase, as I think we'll see when the schedules are posted). It all depends on what you want. It's too bad they are on the same weekend because it would have been nice to go to both. Good competitions are few and far between, so it's a shame when you have to choose (like those who had to decide between NCA and Cheersport).
I agree with the creepy Jammie thing, not sure WHO designed him! We have never attended and I heard they are fun competitions, but they really should re-thing the whole mascott thing.
My daughter used to love characters from a far, but as soon as they got close up - all h*ll broke loose. She's outgrown that now, but it used to be diffucult bringing her to parades, Chuck E CHeese etc...when she was young! LOL

I stand corrected! We are going to American Showcase, not Jamfest. Have no idea where my head was on that one!!!! However, my feelings are still the same about Jammie!
We still don't know. We are still raising the money.
It was wonderful seeing you too Amac!!!!! You look beautiful as usual!!!!
