Actually, I was just stating my opinion! Everyone else has stated their own opinion, so I stated mine....didn't know that was a crime. Evidence to back up my statment is not wrong either!!! Did I say I didn't like NorCal??? NO. So back off...
Whoaaaaa.... I remeber the holla yall tees. Those were tiggghhhttt. See you're just looking at it all in the wrong way. :( Unfortunately, those shirts were trying to bring a little bit of Cali talk, to Texas. In cali we say "holla" like holla at your girl.... or from the famous Gwen Stefani song "Holla back girl." Then in Texas they say ya'll. I don't think it was made to MAKE FUN OF THE WAY THEY SPEAK, more so, embrace it. It would have been different if it said. "In Cali we don't say Ya'll." Now, that's different.
Think outside the box!!!

Sorry buhos, I don't have one or know where to get one.
If you can't find someone on here that can help you, you may want to try http://www.whatisprox.com/forum/default.asp The ProX message board currently has more people reading it.
So...I'm on a completely different message board (not cheer related) and the topic of West Coast vs East Coast is discussed. Thought it was ironic and had to copy part of the discussion here:
Post #1 -well it's not THAT different, but yes, people on the West Coast are more "chill" and laid back, which is nice and all, but some of them have the weirdest vocabulary, which includes "words" like "hella" and "hyphy".
Post #2 -hahaha yea that word 'hella' is just funny to hear. when i first heard it, i was like huh? then i was explained that it's the equivalent of using 'mad' (i.e. mad props to you) out on the east coast. i thought that was funny though. i actually pointed someone out when i heard her use the word 'hella'.
Post #3 -I'm from oakland, CA. Hella means like a whole lot. "I was hella mad" or "He spends hella time on myspace."
On Saturday, we were sitting around chatting, and someone said that Hella is a nor Cal word. And these aren't cheer people and would have never read the message board. I sat there, listening to them and they (the people from Northern California) said that hella is a Nor Cal word. How ironic that this conversation was happening in a totally different setting and with non cheer people who wouldn't have seen our conversation.
I lived in NorCal for 20 years. I used the word myself. I never thought if it as bad, just slang. I guess I never put that much thought in to it since it only means "more" than normal. Or maybe even "most". I guess it depends on what you're describing.
I don't think EXCoach was being quite as rude as was thought. Let's remember that the written word sounds "hella harsh" when it's read. I don't think he/she meant to be rude. At least, I didn't think of it that way anyway, but I could see where one would get that from the tshirt comment. Maybe it could be reworded?
I totally know where Worlds Watcher is coming from being that I know him/her very very well. That is not something that would be allowed into her/his home. My home is quite different, but seeing where Worlds Watcher is coming from, it WOULD be quite offensive. And I'm totally sorry for that. It's not meant to be offensive at all actually but your point of view is totally understandable.

I think it's fine to state a point of view, but it did get personal and rude whether ExCoach wants to admit it or not. The "no class" comment was simply not called for.
I'm not bashing anyone for stating their opinion, please read my post. When someone brings up past instances, it is clearly personal. If you don't like it, just say you don't like it without the extra insulting commentary. There is a big difference between the two posts; I think most would agree. Probably time to move on ...

No one is bashing anyone for thier opinion, or objecting to anyone expressing how they feel. I think people took exception to the comment 'We know that NorCal always has distasteful shirts anyway".You don't need to make it so personal thats all. I agree this particular comment was kind of harsh. The poster may not have meant for it to come off like that but unfortunately it did. I also agree that it's best that this discussion is put to rest.

EXACTLY what my point was. When another teams name gets brought up with a statement like that (outlined in CSE MOMS post) it comes across rude. I'm sorry if my post sounded harsh as well, I'm not one to be rude at all. So I appologize everyone.
On the bright side, Megan, I am excited to see the worlds shirt!!

The difference is the way WorldsWatcher and ExCoach posted.
WorldsWatcher simply stated they don't feel it's appropriate. ExCoach went on about how it shows a lack of decent vocabulary, how it's classless, then stated that "We know that NorCal always has distasteful shirts anyway". edited to change the font because it wasn't all the same.
