California will be at the Showcase. Are you going to come to watch that weekend? You could do one day with us at the showcase and the sunday at jamfest.

Yeah, I like those shorts too. I remember a while back, we had a debate on the skirts or shorts... I dont remember the outcome but how are they working out for your girls? Do they like them more? or do they prefer the traditional skirt? My only concern would be the posibility of them riding up my inner thighs! YUCK! haha ________________________________________________________________ We LOVE the shorts and so do the girls. They are a tight fit, so there is no riding at all. It totally eliminates the pulling at the skirt. Someone wrote that they saw the girls fidgeting with them still during the routine, but I haven't seen that at all. I just know that all the kids really feel comfortable in them. I'm sure we'll see more shorts next season on the circuit!
I correct myself. So Cal Elite will be at the Showcase also. Not at Jamfest. And I think I will do that. Sar and Jamfest and Sunday at Showcase! Thanks Nicole!!!

I was reading the schedule for this weekends competition and I'm having a senior moment. What is the difference between Sm Gym Jr Level 2 and Jr Sm Level 2?
Small gym is a gym who has less than a certain amount of members (usually it is 150). Small (without "gym" mentioned) refers to the size of a team (usually 20 and under). Some competitions divide it this way to avoid having too many in a division, figuring that larger gyms have an advantage over smaller gyms (a larger pool of talent to draw from).

Hope that helps!
Thanks....I figured it was something like that after taking another look at the schedule. It was just confusing because they did not do this for all the divisions and there are some teams that you think would fall under sm gym (because of the size of thier gyms) and they are not listed as a small gym.I guess I'm over thinking it so I'm going to stop.
I think it is a good option especially for teams that are truly a small small gym....meaning less the 100 kids....For us we take advantage of it sometimes and other times we do not for example our Small Seniors are competing regular divison as well as our Junior 4 then our Junior 2 is competing small gym.....either way Junior 2 is always very competitive. I think there are more teams in Small Gym Junior 2 then regular.
WE are a small gym also... well technically not really, we have about 110. But minus those ten girls we are, and I'd much rather compete in the division as a whole to know where I really stand.

The only problem I have with this division is that people compete small gym in some divisions and regular in others, when small gym is offered and applicable. Although we are a small gym we are competing in the regular divisions offered. I think next year they are no longer offering those divisions based on the USASF age guidelines. Honestly a small gym is 60-70 and under. 100 kids is 5 small teams which is a nice size in my opinion.
