I am trying to get the Cheersport results and scores but I keep getting a request for a username and password just to access the website. Anyone having this problem?
yeahh that happens to me too. the page half loaded and it said nationals results HERE with a link but it wouldnt let me click on it without entering username/password
They are probably trying to update all of the results, and all the people going on to their website is probably really slowing things down. They most likely added the user id/password screen so only Cheersport employees can get in and and finish updating the results. Since it's already late on the East coast, I wouldn't be surprised if you get this screen until tomorrow afternoon.
NOTE FROM WEBMASTER: (2/20/2007, 10:45pm) Beginning at approximately 5:50pm, and continuing still as of 10:45pm, the company that CHEERSPORT contracts with to host the www.cheersport.net website is experiencing major disruptions in their systems. These disruptions have resulted in our inability to post the 2007 Nationals results in a timely manner and has also severely limited the availability of the CHEERSPORT website to our customers.
The CHEERSPORT IT staff is working closely with our host company to restore our website to full functionality as quickly as possible. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this has caused.

NCA had their results posted immediately, they should try to use the same company.
I was wondering about POWER's large and small teams winning their bids (congrats to them)! I know last year POWER's small was a subset of their large. If that's the case this year, which team will they take, and what happens if they can only use one bid? Maybe this was discussed before and I missed it (if so I apologize). I would assume they would take their large team. They can't take both because of the new rule about crossovers, or am I wrong?
Abby, Never in a million years did we think that we would be sitting here with three bids to Worlds and two of them being fully paid. I have coached for 15 years and this group of girls are the easiest group I've ever coached. We never could of imagined how much every girl would progress They worked hard from day one and had a blast doing it. We are currently working on what we are going to do and of course looking into what would be best for all of the girls. Cheersport was so much fun. All of the Cali teams did so well and were so much fun to watch. Can't wait to see everyone at GSSA. Cheers, Lisa Deeter POWER
I have been watching your teams all season Lisa and I've been in awe of them, they're simply amazing. I was wondering if you can take the 2nd fully paid bid and give it to your team that won bid at large? Wouldn't that be great!
That's some tough decision making over there for POWER. But I just wanted to say... they looked simply amazzziinnnng this past weekend in both small senior and large senior 5. And their girls were so nice... after our large senior 5 team, Legend, performed a handful of POWER girls were on the side exit of the stage asking to meet and talk to some of our girls. They were very sweet and our girls made friends with some of them. And that's what it's all about, after the days over. Not how you did, but who you met and became friends with. Thanks POWER girls and program... you made our small gym feel very special. :)
Sincerely, Megan

What happened to your Small Senior Level 5 team? They were on the original schedule at Cheersport but I don't see them in the standings? Did they move to a different division?

What a dilemma! *sarcastic tone* HA
Conrats guys! Your athletes are terrific!!! Im glad that fierce's coach said your girls were so warm and inviting to talk to! Makes me proud!
Okay, now that the results are posted, take a look at the scores in the Senior Small Level 5 divisions. The top two scores were POWER (565) and Premier Great White Sharks (562.5). Top two bids should have gone to the top two scores, right? Wrong. Because of the way they divided the two divisions (based solely on when you registered), Premier ended up in the same division as POWER, and AZ with a score of 544 took first instead. Who knew that WHEN you register at a competition would matter this much? I guess Premier now knows... It just makes me scratch my head, but maybe I'm alone on this one, I dunno.
You're not alone...and not just for bids. So now, CheerSport has two National Champion Small Senior Level 5. And one of those wasn't even the top 2 scores out of all the Small Sr 5 teams. So how can you call yourselves National Champs? I just don't get it and don't agree with it all all. Especially with the bids.

We don't have a level 5 Senior team any longer. They are all on other teams now, so they didn't perform. A few girls quit so we decided to have the rest go to other teams that would be able to accomodate them and still give them a chance perform in Atlanta with a full team and full routine. They still got to go to Cheersport this way.

I think most would agree with that. However, this issue has nothing to do with the scoring, right? This has to do with how bids were rewarded in the exact same division (Senior Small Level 5). Cheersport decides to divide the division because there were so many (but was that really necessary)? NCA had some divisions with 16 teams, and we're talking about 20 I believe. Okay, so you divide the divisions. You still need to reward the top two teams in Senior Small Level 5, if you're going to give two bids. The top two teams were POWER, and Premier came in 2nd (a very close 2nd I might add). But because of just plain bad luck regarding which division Premier ended up in, they are out of a fully paid bid. AZ should be thanking their lucky stars they ended up where they did, otherwise they would be in 3rd place as the scores show, and not National Champs with a fully paid bid. Nelson, you don't see anything wrong with the way this was done??? Should someone really be cheated out of a paid bid because of when they registered? Boggles the mind.
I think it has quitea bit to do with scoring. Here's the point I was trying to make. Let's say the judging panels were switched. Who's to say that AZ doesn't get the high score and Premier actually gets the 3rd highest score?
The point is judging is subjective, it is not an exact science.
Now I can't explain why the divisions were split, you'd have to ask Cheersport about that one. Either way, that is the way it was done and now teams will live with that decision, regardless of whether they think it fair or not.
Lastly, I have to be honest when I say that if I were AZ I would be insulted by your "lucky" comment. I'm sure you intended no ill will but to say AZ got lucky getting that bid implies they did not deserve it.

I apologize for that, I certainly did not mean to say they (AZ) did not deserve winning the division Cheersport put them in. When teams sign up to compete at Cheersport in a particular division (in this case, Small Senior Level 5) for a bid to Worlds, they should be allowed to compete against ALL the teams in that division, not just the teams Cheersport decided to group them with. That is the point I was trying to make. I hope they make changes that make sense next year.
I see both sides here.... CHEERSPORT should have made it one whole division and should have never split it. Maybe they will take this situation into consideration next time.
