I was looking at the website trying to determine if videotaping is allowed at the competition in San Mateo; it looks like flash photography is prohibited, but no mention of videotaping. A heads-up for those who did not attend last year -- this is the competition that used a videotaping company who messed up the DVD's (when we all FINALLY received ours many months later after numerous phone calls). Some were never fixed, and those moments are forever lost. My guess is that because of this they are allowing it. I wondered if anyone knows for sure?
Even if they aren't, they will have to pry it from my hands and drag me out, seriously.
Companies try and say that too often, at american championships they said NO PHOTOS OR VIDEOTAPPING, and then everyone was doing so. If the company has security that check the bags when you walk in hide it inbetween a blanket or in a cheer back they usually just look at the top of the bag. Its crazy that some companies try to do that. My should you be forced to buy a dvd for 1 performance? Anyhow, hope that helps a little!
Thanks for the response Cheer Watcher. Yea, I've done that (snuck my video camcorder in) but I hate doing it and I really feel I shouldn't have to. If that's what it takes I will of course. Since I see no mention at all on their website about it not being allowed, I think it will be fine to walk in with it. If it's not I'll remind them of what happened last year and hopefully they'll see my point. I agree about no flash photography, that can definitely be distracting.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there, it should be a lot of fun! I hope our teams do well, but we see it more as good practice before Nationals, so it will be a good experience regardless of what the outcome is.
