Ok, so we couldn't avoid it any longer. The cheergyms.com Message boards have gone to a "Registration process". I personally didn't want it to come to this. I think we were able to get a larger number of viewpoints when people were able to quickly respond and start new topics. Unfortunately, 80% of the comments were becoming ridiculously rude and uncalled for. So here we are.
Below are some good things that I hope will come of this new system.
I'll be able to quickly ban users from posting as soon as there is an inappropriate comment. Before I was able to ban an IP address but that wasn't specific enough since many IP addresses are shared for users of AOL or Comcast and others.
The use of this board will now be much more FUN. With the use of photo icons, emoticons, and a font editing toolbar.
Just like on the ProX board, we will be able to get to know each other since we will be identified on each post. This will help us all to make new friends and completely up the level of respect. Plus it'll be fun to finally meet each other at different competitions after getting to know each other here.
I hope that all cheer programs will allow their families to now use this board. I know before they were afraid of bad comments reflecting them but now this should be no worry.
I truly believe that the problems we were having were coming from a small group of people but we just couldn't go on like that.
Thank you to EVERYONE that have helped make the cheergyms.com Boards one of the most popular sites in the Cheer World.
You all are great!

Once you get all registered and confirmed, there is a spot to edit your profile. In there (maybe halfway down) is a place to add an "avatar". You can choose a picture that's already on the web or upload one from your computer. It has to be smaller than 100 x 100 pixels.
It was pretty easy, I think the hardest part was finding the "edit profile" thing. IM me if ya need more help!
No doubt things have "calmed" down. The problem is that out of the 5000 visitors over the past 2 days.....only 54 have registered to use the board. Any ideas to bolster use? We're losing all the good discussion along with the bad.
