Personally, I think Cheer Athletics are the front runners for paid bids. I still think that put something in the water in Texas to have soooo much talent.
Good luck to the California teams, represent us well !!! We'll be cheering you on.
I think Cheer Athletics have the upper hand, but I've seen many cali teams this year with the talent to take them out, they just have to hit it cleaner then Cheer Athletics. That is the hard part.
I think that the clear favorites for the Paid bids would be the two defending World Champions, Panthers and Jags. Georgia Large Coed (NCA Grand Champion) would be in the mix, but they already have a bid. There are some solid West Coast teams, but Cheer Athletics just has too much raw horsepower.
When you watch them this weekend - remember that arguably their best team (their large coed) isn't even there. I'm sure they don't look at it like this, but we will effectively be watching their JV and Junior High teams. (We all wish that our "varsity" was half that good.) Where do they get all of that talent?
There could be many reasons to give a bid back. #1 on the list could be having injuries before the competition. #2 could be not having more of you level 5 teams or teams in general at the same competition. #3 could be having the confidence that you would get a bid down the road when #1 and #2 were not a factor.
That doesnt make sense....you can sub in people that are injured and why would you not take it just because you dont have other teams there? Please explain your thought process.
Sure, I understand that you can keep them on the roster. Think of it this way. Gym X has 10 teams, they take Team 1 to a competition and get a bid to Worlds. Teams 2-10 have stayed home. Team 1 is now limited to using the exact 35 athletes that competed to get the bid. Had teams 2-10 been there, they could have used any of the athletes in their entire program as a substitute.
