You know what I would like to see in the level 4 teams? Clean, technically correct layouts. If I could see that I would enjoy level 4 teams more. And maybe some nice split kick layouts. I'm so tired of piked layouts.

i know theres a team in northern cali has awesome level 4 tumbling! cant remeber their name but i saw them in san jose
That was extremely rude.... I love the level 4 kids as much as the level 1,2,3 and 5 kids. You should always strive to be the best at the level you are. Just because you aren't level 5 doesn't mean you aren't the "best." I think that BEST OF THE BEST needs to reword that post. Yes, I understand what they were saying. There are better ways of saying things though.
USASF may not accept the lower levels because they want to keep Worlds for the teams that have reached the highest level in All Star cheerleading. I think that is what sets it apart. It's something to strive for.
The post before thar said that level 4 should go to worlds and I do not think they should. Why are people so sensitive about it. I think level 4's are great, but they are not at the top and that is what worlds is about. No one said that they did not enjoy level 4, they just said that they are not the BEST and they are not. Those are the facts people. Because if they were the best they would be level 5.
Level 5 is the highest division you can go up to. Yes there is a higher level of difficulty, but to say just because your level 5 your better is kind of arrogant.

Because a program has a level 5 team does not make them a great program. But if the where able to send all their teams to worlds then you would be able to see who has a great program. The only thing that would stop them from adding lower levels. Then most teams could not send their lower levels because of all the crossovers

Level 6 is open and there is that division at worlds which is International Open .. i think the rules may eb a bit different than for regular competitions with Level6 divisions. And when the person above said the best of the best the "elite" i don't think they were putting down level for just meanign that Worlds is for the teams with the highest skill Level meaning fulls double fulls jumps to tucks and double downs from stunts. I don't see USASF adding lower level divisions to Worlds
If they premier divisions (small/large all girl and small/large coed) could go level6, then the level 5's should stay home, but right now that is the highest level-5.
After the first or second Worlds comp at the coaches conference at USASF they discussed making Worlds level 6 because it is the top skill level. But they felt it would eliminate the majority of gyms and teams out there. I think what we may see in the future is level 6 age rules changing so it would include high school aged kids. There are many level 5 high school age teams/gyms out there that could easily do level 6 skills. I think that is the direction that USASF may be taking cheerleading. But it will take quite a few years to get those rule changes incorporated and standard within the industry. And maybe that will never happen due to the recent concerns of safety and even college teams are being restricted from doing level 6 skills except at competitions.
Adding the lower levels to Worlds wouldn't seem to present the "best" of cheerleading. It may present the best of each level, but I don't think that is what Worlds is supposed to be about.
I so agree with you. I just was taken back by the comment that level 4 wasn't the best. I guess it was just worded incorrectly and I didn't want any cheerleader to feel inferior.
Cheer has progressed so much and it's such a wonderful thing!!!!
