Hi everyone! We just got home! I have the final standings and just to let you know, OC didn't compete, just exhibitioned. But the competition was INCREDIBLE!!! The way it was set up and the way it was run was so great and different! The setting was out of a Hollywood movie set with a red carpet, papparazzi, Oscars, tiara and tshirts! Every contestant took home a goodie bag, Inside Cheerleading magazine, tiara and tshirt. So that was so cool! There were lots and lots of vendors and pretty good food. It was typical of most competiions with a few extras, like chili with the nachos, giant sodas, free waters, Dippin' Dots and more!
There were also sponsorship awards, cash and prizes. It was fun! And there wasn't any fighting!!! hehehehehe
Some categories didn't have any competition, actually quite a few didn't but the competition is a brand new one so it was expected to be small. I seriously don't think it will stay this way. Not with the way they did things. The announcer even came over the loudspeaker and told the parents, "Some parents are under the impression that they can't take pictures or videotape. This is not true. We invite you to photograph anything you like!" Everyone cheered for that.
When they did the awards, everyone was "backstage". As they were announced, the teams came running out on the red carpet and on to the "stage" with huge spotlights and all. The announcer was dressed as if he was handing out Oscars, and their awards were written on cards with gold envelopes that they got to keep. It was really cute. They got their tiaras backstage, so their pictures have them all wearing them. The little girls ESPECIALLY thought that was cool. I'm pretty sure the boys got crowns but I didn't see them. There was a Red Carpet Walk competition for the parents and that was HYSTERICAL.

Ok, I have to get to bed. I feel likes it's midnight!!! If anyone can attend this competition, I COULD NOT reccomend it any more!!!! It was fun and the kids got lots of stuff to take home.
ATC will have a Nor Cal event next year in January. It will be just as fun, in addition to having a nationals in Hollywood and regionals in Washington and Anaheim. It will be just as fun =)
All Things Cheer is a seperate company owned by one of the coaches at the gym at OC.
The competition was SO fun. ATC is planning multiple events on the West Coast next year... truly hope to see Cheergyms.com at one of them! Its a great show and we will have pictures posted on the website soon, so keep checking! www.allthingscheer.com
