I dont see the big deal. It was on her own personal page. Plus....Im sure power takes it as a compliment. We all know that it is a huge accomplishment when you beat power in any division since they only lose once or twice per season.
I am not too suprised to see a team take down the allmighty POWER. =) Especially at level 4 because most gyms can't field a conteding level 5 team and bump their kids to level 4, as they rightfully should for the team. I am sure POWER will take it as a compliment and motivation.
I would look at this as a compliment. To them if beating Power was a big deal means that they look at Power as a worthy competitor and a force to beat . My daughters team beat Power last year at a comp. Even though they got 2nd they felt that they got first because they worked hard and beat a really good team. I don't think feeling this way is bad. competition can be healthy and pride in hard work is good.
If I recall last year, early in the season, a couple of POWER's teams were not as strong (dropped stunts). They sure picked it up as the season went on though. So beat them now while you can! Let me guess, if you beat them last year, it was the first half of the competition season, right? They have difficult routines that take a while to master. They don't start out simple like some. And once they master those routines, watch out! Btw, I'm not affiliated with POWER, I'm just a fan.
Nope I don't believe it was early in the season. Hard as it may be to believe no team is invincable Why is it if they got beat they had a bad day . Why couldn't it be they were having a good day but another team had a better one? IMHO
I think that is quite funny that there is a thread about this topic in the first place. They had 11 teams go and only ONE team got second. Keep it up girls. You should be nothing but proud.
True, outside cheer mom. I wasn't there, is that what happened? Did their team that placed 2nd (which is still awesome) have a great performance and were just outbeaten? If I had to guess I would say they had a drop or two, just because I know how difficult their routines are, compared to other teams.
I think the point of this post was to show how much they are respected. It really is a compliment when a team is glowing because they beat you. I hope they take it that way.
My daughter cheers on a team that has gone aginst Power for years...she has never gotten 1st. Do we hate them? No! Admire and envy yes! They are just so good at what they do. All of their teams look great, level 2 -5! But those 5 girls..I have NEVER seen anything like that. I had heard from another mom that the lg 5 team is a combo of the two Power locations. They only practice together ONE day a week! How do they get that "together", while being from 2 locations. I am a huge fan now. Congrats Power on a great showing.
Yes, getting first place is always a great thing, but never be too surprised when you beat a team with a good reputation. Everyone is playing the same ball game, and no one is invinsible. Everyone knows that the difference between first and last place can be a matter of two points. Sometimes it just comes down to sheer perfection, even if your choreography does not measure up. If you can not execute your routine, it shows that you need work...and that is not an impression you want leave on a judge... so good job, and never forget that the judges don't lie!!
