MY DAUGHTER NEEDS A COACH

Date:
TUMBLING

My daughter cheers for a gym in the Central Valley and needs to progress her skills further and would like to take some outside tumbling classes. Who would you recommend as a good tumbling coach. I have asked parents at my gym and wanted to get some different answers on who would be the best coach to get her to progress.

Well, I guess I will have to guess what Valley in Nor Cal you are talking about....

Lets see....

Sac area there is Power.....

San Jose area you have Motions

Eureka I have no idea if there's even a team there....

Fresno must have SOME sort of gyms but I can't think of one off hand.

Santa Rosa area..... someone fill that one in for me.

If you're more north than those, sorry, can't help ya. But my suggestion would be to go to a gym that has made a name for themselves. There must be a reason why they are doing so well.

How do a take her to a another gym if they are competing against each other. I was thinking more along the lines of coaches that are not affiliated with Cheer or would accept Chearleaders from other programs. I don't know how I would feel (or how my gym would feel) about taking my daughter to another cheergym to tumble. I love my cheer gym, She just needs more tumbling

I would check any gymnastics clubs in your area and find out what level competitive teams they have and how they have been placing at their meets. That will give you a good idea of how to evaluate them for privates.

Please keep in mind that when you go to a gymnastics club they teach at a much slower pace than cheerleading, expecting to get the "form" right before they will allow you to progress to the next stage. You need to make sure you understand what you will be getting and how long the progress will take. Overall the tumbling will be better than what is typically taught at cheerleading gyms, but has a much better result.

I take my kids to an outside gym for gymnastics. Matter of fact we have many families who go outside of our gym to improve their skills. I say if you cheer gym doesn't like it then they should really bring someone in to help their gyms tumbling skills. i am alos in the Nor Cal Cent. Valley. I know some people who use the Modesto Power, and Athletic Perfection in Tracy and I could be wrong but doesn't 720 also do privates? Or check your local gymnastics groups and ask about what they offer for cheerleaders. Good Luck
