Twisters (CCT) are going all girl level 5 this year but we are from So-Cal- I'm sure we will compete against the No-Cal teams in some comps this year. Just wanted to get the word out about CCT.
Okay there must be two of us Airborne Fan's out there. I am changing my name to AirFan so as not to be confused with the other Airborne Fan. Airborne's senior all girl team is small and is level 4/5.
I think all large level 5 teams should create a subset of their large, call it small, and compete twice, giving them two chances at a Worlds bid. Why is it just POWER does it? (maybe because they can, which would be a legit answer) Just wondering why others don't??
That is a good question. I coach at Power and I can tell you why we do it. Small Senior is an incredible hard division. I do not mean in terms of competition, but I mean in terms of 20 girls have to fill up 2:30 minutes as opposed to 35 people getting to share the load. Without a doubt that small team made our large team better because all of those twenty girls were in such great shape. They were not necessarily the best 20 girls but they were ones that showed the capacity to bust their butts. We have a small team this year as well and I think I read somewhere on here that it has full squad doubles-- that cetainly is false. Were working hard and I am sure that everyone else is too. I cannot wait for the season to start. I miss all of my cheer friends.

Not all gyms have the space or time to field the same girls in another category. Plus meeting 2 times a week is what most athletes can commit to becasue of other activities.
Once the choreography is down, the small only meets 1-1.5 hours per week. It is before or after the Large practice so they do not come down another day. It really is not different then say the All American team. The AA is a subset of cheergyms.com teams that the Danny and Morton feel possess something special and would like to work with them more. They might not be the best, but those kids love cheer and love to work very hard. ( I would assume).
Well thats great that you have kids who are willing to stay in the gym in additional 1.5 hours a night, but in some areas, the parents can only commit their kids for those practices and maybe an additional tumbling class. I think its great you guys can do that. Probably why POWER does so well every year.
I think it would be great to see CF sm-coed go against Cali sm-coed- Less boys means it depends more on the girls- I would pick CF girls over Cali girls. CF to win by 2 pts-
I do that that CF girls have crazy cross passes and hard skills but they are not as clean and polished as CA. CA is sooooo clean and still have hard skills. I give it to CA all the WAY!
