The movie was better then the second one, but there was a lot of vulgarity in it and for the most the cheerleaders were not protrayed as very nice people. Some great dancing and stunts (level 6 stuff)
Oh My you guys!!! The premier at OC was incredible last night!!! I wish all of you could have been there! The stars sat and watched the movie with the kids and then spent 4 hours signing everything anyone wanted and took TONS of pictures and signed those too!!! They all were sooooooooooooooooo incredibly kind and nice to EVERYONE!!! Hayden is so much more beautiful in person. gus is so sweet and kind and the rest of the cast is soooooo funny! Some were even tumbling around on our floors! None of them got paid for it one bit and they all were so gracious from beginning to end!! All of the money for the ticket sales were a fundraiser for Shanny's team, Youth Yellow. AND to make it even more exciting, Stephen from Laguna Beach showed up too!!! He signed stuff and took pics and everything! It was so much fun!
If you haven't bought the DVD yet, go and get it. These guys DESERVE our support! They proved it last night! We will post the pics by this Friday the latest.
WE WISH YOU ALL WERE THERE!!!! WE REALLY REALLY DO!!!!
My daughter loves cheer. We rented it, and she thought it was okay. Not anything like the first, which she has seen close to a hundred times. $16.95 is too high, but I'll watch for sales. We did support Stephen from Laguna Beach though (my daughter bought the season two DVD's).
Since I was just at Target, I thought I'd mention it's $17.99 there! It does include some extra stuff though. After seeing it I have to ask, will we ever see a movie that is truly all about all star cheerleading? Now that's one I would buy to support the coaches, owners, and kids that made it happen. I think there would be enough interest in it. But I guess I'm kind of biased, so it's hard to tell.
Sounds like the premiere party at OC all stars was great!!
I really wish one of these shows or movies was about real cheerleading. Also the ghetto high school thing is getting played out and is kind of judgemental if you ask me. They always portray the kids from the "hood" in such bad lighting. Its really annoying. The cheerleading competition at the end of the movie was pretty random. The uniforms were not completed, I mean come on, get some lettering on the shells. Yes its a movie, but at least in football movies, it comes closer to reality than these movies do. I guess cause its cheerleading, but it would be great for a movie to be about all-star competitive cheerleading and the work these kids put into it. I would pay to see it.
You are so right. They don't portray cheer very well. But that's only cause they make what sells. Football is more recognized, even by non football players. So that's probably why they are more realalistic.
The OC night was FUN! We went and we aren't even a part of OC. I guess the stars were only supposed to stay until 9 and they stayed until 11 because they didn't want to let any of the kids down. We were impressed with how nice they were to the kids. You could tell they were getting tired after being there for 5 hours. But for 10 bucks, you couldn't beat it. You got EVERYONES autograph and they actually talked to you and took whatever pictures you wanted. There was a photographer there, I think he worked for the gym, but they printed your pictures for you there so you could get that signed too. It was way cool. We got home so late but my kids are still in awe with meeting Stephen from Laguna Beach.
I don't know if I liked the movie better than the first one but it was way better than the second. My kids were just so happy to watch the movie with the actual stars there watching it too that they didn't even pay attention to the "borderline" stuff.
