Johnny Aguilar and his wife Nicole organized and sponsored a city wide Basketball tornament this weekend to raise funds to support the Katy George Foundation. They didn't even know Katy, but wanted to do something in her memory to honor what an excellent athlete and person she was. The tournament was a great success and all of their hard work and dedication was very much appreciated. Cheer Odyssey had just returned from camp Sunday afternoon. After training outside in the heat since Friday, they walked in and performed for Katy. There was not a dry eye in the building and I can tell you I have never had more respect for a group of athletes as I did at that moment. Exhausted both mentally and physically, they put on their game face and made us all proud. Keep up the good work Odyssey, Katy would be proud.
Man - Cheer Odyssey continues to impress me. I have read about their Katy Geroge tournament. I wish that I could have been there to see them perform. THey have truly been a support to my family and I as my daughter battles cancer and I haven't even got to meet half of them yet :). I can not wait until competition season starts so I can meet some of the awesome cheer parents from Cheer Odyssey. They have driven from Stockton to Scramento SEVERAL times to help us out, helped work our fireworks booth on July 4th (to raise money for my daughter) and also came up and delivered donations for a casino night that we had for my daughter. Talk about good sportmanship. YOU ROCK CHEER ODYSSEY.
