unadept cheer coach?

i figure i'll get some good thoughts&advice from people here...
i cheer at a small high school cheer team, but our coach is highly unadept because
1) she doesnt answer any of the cheer girls' calls in times of urgency.
2) there were no tryouts this spring bc she didn't organize it. she basically disconnected contact with the cheerleaders, though we tried to contact her to at least have an informational meeting.
3) she can't make up cheer routines or provide much support for anything cheer related other than conditioning and drilling. her cheer experience is limited.
4) she's not getting replaced.

i would like to try all stars, but i like my school team because it is slightly more flexible and understanding of school&academic events. i heard cheergyms had a school training program...would that be helpful for the school team, even if i dont think were ready in numbers or level for comp? are there such things as midseason teams around the bay, in case some members would like to try all stars for a year, and what gyms are recommended for beginning high school cheer members?

I think you answered your own question. I guess it depends on how much you love cheerleading itself. If you love to cheer and want to get better, then go for All Stars. If you only want to look cute in the skirt and only care about your "status" then stay with the school. Luckily most schools aren't that way, but hey, it really depends on what you want to do.

In the long run, All Stars is the way to go. You won't go anywhere in the cheer world at your school, that's for sure! But if you aren't looking to cheer in college, then I guess it doesn't really matter.
