I don't know about you guys but I'm really looking forward to seeing what talent comes out of the upcoming season, with the merging of some gyms, coaches combining their talents and experiences, etc... We've talked about this before, but one reason California isn't quite as strong as other states represented at Worlds is because we have sooooo many gyms to choose from. Merging our talent will produce stronger teams. I wonder if anyone has ever done a study of how many gyms we have within a particular area, compared to other states? Looking at the talent at all the regional competitions we've attended, it would be awesome to pool some of that talent together.
Good luck to those going to Worlds, and bring on 2006-2007!
Both Clovis and Powerhouse have information on their web sites for tryouts. Are you sure they are merging or did coaches leave both organizations and starting a new gym.
And again, I have to say, I wish people would check out the name before they decide to select a name. There are cheer teams in Kansas, Illinois, & Colorado with that name. And that was just a quick simple search on Google. Who knows how many other gyms are out there with that name.
Could someone clarify this "merge" vs "coaches leaving".
I think it's fine when there are duplicate names in other states. But when the same name exists in northern CA, go figure. Not a similar name, but the exact same name. Oh well.
if you are reffering to nor cal eitle all stars which you probably are because this message board is well known for its bashing... that gym no longer exists it closed and that means that name is not taken :)
Looks like the Redding team is licensed to July '06. If they closed down, they probably won't need it, huh? I honestly don't think the comments are directed at your gym, it's the topic of using names that already exist (or existed). Maybe it would help to look at the comments as observations and not bashing. Most of the comments I have read about SBE have been very positive. We all know how good you guys are and I think most of us feel you'll have a strong '06-'07 season. Good luck to all of you.
I think Nor Cal Elite is a great strong name and ya if they go by NCE I know I'll be confused because there's an NCP(Nor Cal Power). But otherwise, the name doesnt make a team, if you're entertaining, you'll be remembered!
well if it wasnt meant like that i apologize but recently south bay has done nothing but had to defend ourselves on these message boards. people just cant get over the fact that stuff changes and things happen.

"Different" names responded: if you are reffering to nor cal eitle all stars which you probably are because this message board is well known for its bashing... that gym no longer exists it closed and that means that name is not taken :)
************************************************************** Sorry, but I don't see the original post from "Names" as "bashing". Just an opinion on duplicate naming. Former SBE members, please try not to be over sensitive and respond in a negative tone. It doesn't help your cause. You could have simply responded: "I looked up Nor Cal Elite and that gym no longer exists it closed and that means that name is not taken :)." Just a suggestion. That way you are providing good information without being negative.
Back to the subject of merging: Who is the 3rd gym of the new Fusion All Stars in Fresno? I know of Clovis Elite, Powerhouse, but not familiar with another gym out there.
Good luck to the new Fusion All Stars. Sounds like a great consolidation of great organizations. Can't wait 'til competition season to see how you "fuse" together.
