Help me answer this ? on GSSA

How can a person from Motions co-ed level 5 or a pyrmid level 5 compete on the All American team from cheergyms? Are all of these teams going for a World Bid? Would this not be considered crossover?
Help me I am so confused?

Not according to them or SBE and Outlaws, they are family. But to everyone else, they are separate gyms.

Why are you bringing SBE into this? We aren't crossing over with champion...

I don't think all three teams could compete at Worlds at the same time if Worlds doesn't allow crossovers between the same gym. If All American got a bid at GSSA and Motions or Pyramids got a bid at Jamz, only one of those teams could compete at Worlds. They would have to make a decision which team would compete.

Remember, each individual competition company has its own rules for cross overs. GSSA, JAMZ, and many more allow cross overs between the same gym. I assume by what people are saying that Worlds doesn't allow crossovers from the same gym. I can't seem to find that rule on their website.

Motions and Pyramids are not the same gym. They are a part of the same parent org but not the same gym. They are far from each other!

If you want to look at this from the "rules" perspective you have to look at the gyms from a business point of view, not location of where their gyms are. As a business, Cheergyms.com is one company, owned by the same people. They have chosen to open up gyms in different locations. In reality, the name of all of their gyms are Cheergyms.com. So, from a rules perspective, they are all one company, one gym and can "crossover" kids from each of their teams. Now, if the competition doesn't allow crossovers, then no, they can't do that.

I'm not saying Champion and SBE aren't "Family" or other such relationships between different gyms. But they are not owned by the same people and are not one business. And that will make a difference when you look at the rules and what is allowed and not allowed.

Sooooo what about.......

I can see where this is all going. POWER crosses over kids from their Modesto Gym and their Sacramento gym. But they're all called Power so that makes it ok? Cheergyms.com just names the gyms differently. If they just named all the gyms "Pyramids" would it then be alright with everyone?

I guess I'm confused at what everyone sees as unfair.

For the record........
1)Crossovers are legal within the same program at worlds in 2006
2)If Motions and Pyramids and All American are lucky enough to get bids, they CAN crossover because they will all be cheergyms.com All Star teams. The names Pyramids and Motions and All american are no different than calling them Tigers, Panthers, and Wildcats.
3)All of the above has been specifically checked on and approved by the USASF.

So help me understand. If a girl from Pyramids competes with her Pyramids team and also on the All American team that is considered legal for GSSA ? In other words she has two chances to go to Worlds. That does not seem legal. They should only be able to try out for Worlds on one team only!

Yeah...it seems to me it's legal for Worlds but not for GSSA? For GSSA you can't (or at least you couldn't, unless they've now changed it) compete on two teams in the same division/difficulty level. So you could be on senior all-girl 5 and senior co-ed 5, or senior all-girl 5 and senior all-girl 4, but you couldn't be on small senior all-girl 5 and large senior co-ed 5, or say, a large senior all-girl 5 "A" and large senior all-girl "B" (if you had two large senior all-girl teams).

So if Motions and Pyramids are both large senior co-ed, and All-American is small senior co-ed, then it would be okay. But I have no idea what the specifications for Worlds are. That's just how most companies do it.

look at it this way

i dont think this is being understood
pyramids is a SEPERATE gym from motions
and all american is a completely seperate team from the other two
all of these teams have worked very hard all season
seperatly
pyramids at THEIR gym
motions at THEIR gym
and all american happens to practice at a few different places..but they are THEIR OWN TEAM!
this worlds stuff is getting out of hand and is being misunderstood..our judges and owners have done their research, they know the rules, and are prepared to deal with the situation as called for.
im sorry that people feel it is unfair to have more than one chance at worlds, but please know that many of the kids on all american aren't from motions or pyramids, and even if they are....they tried out seperately, they practice seperately, and they have worked VERY hard to get where they are today.
if all these teams get the chance to go to worlds, then great! that means they have the talent, drive, and dedication it takes. and again im sure that the cheergyms.com owners and coaches know very well what the rules are and how to deal with anything that comes their way!

Yeah, now THAT would be a problem (if you had your own judges).

when is comes down

When it comes down to it, Cheergyms.com is one company! All the teams are "seperate" but they're all one! If they weren't they wouldn't all be cheering "Cheergyms.com" in their routine. Thats one! I dont care if you do your thang with crossovers because that is what is happening, but just realize that saying you're all seperate gyms.....uhhh that doesnt really fly or make any REAL sense with a lot of people. I'm sure some of the coaches from motions helps the other gyms and vise versa! Yall are helping eachother to make CHEERGYMS stronger! NOT just one gym! We're not stupid, we know the difference between two teams cheering eachother on from different owners....than the same owner coaching on their other gym. I think its great! Good job and keep up the good work!

jus a thought. but what does it matter?

cause as rules are rules and cheergyms and all their teams have to follow them just like everyone else, so dont you think that the coaches and program directors have already figured all this out?

and jus anothe rthought, if your not part or the teams were talking about here- then what does it matter to anyone else. i mean really- it doesnt affect any of the rest of us in any way.

Yes It Does

It affects those of us who use the girls & guys within our own gym and don't go elsewhere to get them. But I guess maybe we may have to start doing that too, huh? So does this mean we can just pick a gym and say we are "Sisters" with them and use their kids? (I know the answer to that) But it's just an example.

Ok, so I say we are sisters with Cheer Athletics. We called them first!!! lol (jk)
