Long on pondering and wondering, I wonder what the venue, menu would be if and when Cheerleading was accepted into the Olympics. Would it come under Winter Sports (Nov to April) or Summer Sports, hmmm.
I won`t even go into costs, since for example,ice skates alone for that particular venue are about 1,200.00 a pair...and that`s just a start....haven`t even come to outfits, socks, coaches, equipment maintenance....
It was just a thought, since cheerleading has come such a long way, and the cheerleaders are such hard working young people, along with their coaches. It is exciting to watch all the different teams, and see the different programs that they come up with..

I just wantd to make a comment discussing the tapes/DVD's sold. Mr. Video has been selling them for 40 dollars at the American Championshps and NCA events this season. Now if you bought them at the American Championships, it was 40 dollars for both days, so reall your only paying 20 dollars a day for alot of material. I think that is GREAT for cheerleading. It used to be much much more, plus the quality is very good. Now other companies charge more , so I think your getting a deal.
Two questions: did they offer the DVD's for $20 for one day or were you forced to buy 2 days at $40? Second question, did they allow you to videotape on your own so you weren't forced to buy theirs if you wanted to see your daughter/son on tape? If the answer is no to either or both, don't be fooled into thinking they are doing you a favor by offering you a "good deal".
For those who want to spend more $$$ and wanted both days anyway, ok, $20 per day isn't bad, I'll give you that. If you were gonna buy both days anyway...
We were there (American Championship) and paid $40 for one day. We had to choose which day. And we bought it there, so I'm not sure where this $40 for two days deal is. You would think buying it there at the competition would be the best deal. Maybe they offered both days later on-line when they didn't sell? Can you give more info, thanks. (our order is already in, but if what you say is true, maybe we can change it)
Oops, I was thinking of another comp that sounds like that one (Athletic Championship). There, it was $40 for one day only (it was hard to choose which day, but we certainly were not going to pay $80 for both)!
Like the other post said, if American Championship let you buy one day for $20, that is a good deal. If it was $40 or nothing, it matters not that you got two days, you are still out $40.
Yes it was 40 dollars for the DVD, but again I think it is alot of material and great quality for a good price. I think its not bad, compared to some videos I have bought before ranging from 50-75 dollars getting only 1 day.
The best deal I've seen yet was last year at Worlds. They sold 2 DVD's, one all girl (large and small) and 1 coed (large and small). They were $25 each. Needless to say, we bought both. Each DVD had prelims and finals. Hopefully, the price will not drastically change this year. (at large teams had to do prelims)
