South bay has never done a needle, but motions has.

Motions did them last season, but they were not up to par. So they didn't do them for very long.

My favorite stunt, Pyramids Senior Black with the kick up front stretch drop down...after that I'd love to see them pop right back up. But the kick up to the fall back is pretty cool.

yeah its south bay juniors coed, they do kick up scale/needles... and some of there scorpions are pretty much needles gorgeous flexibility on these 2 little girls i saw. Yeha i really likes Pyramids coed stunt last year!! Frierce oprah stunt BEAUTIFUL!

What's the "Oprah stunt"? Is that where you perform on TV about 15 years longer than you should?

I'll agree with Nelson here. Derick, props to you for that Stretch drop down. It still impresses me each time I see it!

Also what are we classifying here as a needle? Is it a straight legged Scorp or a torso drop with the back leg extended up? Terminology in the cheerleading world is becoming regional slang.

lol .. we're talking about straight leg scorp needles.. and that Oprah comment is so mean! hahha. but yeah Opera stunt .. where they wind down to the grouond clockwise while holding pretty scorpions

Pyramids junior prep team does kick scorpions. Hard to believe for such a young team. They are a team to watch in the future. They are an aweome young team. Angie their coach does a great job.

Let's get our terminology right.

a NEEDLE.. is when you stand on your right leg, drop your chest all the way to your knee and grab your standing foot while your left leg is straight up and down. Like an actual needle, a needle is straight with a round loop on the bottom for string to go through. When you bend over with your leg vertical, you look like a needle.

a SPIKE.. is simply put, a straight legged scorpion. And the only spike I've ever seen is from champion outlaws. the only teams ive seen do needles would be some team from UCA nationals last year and Motions small seniors last year. nice try though.

we aren't talking about last year's pyramids coed stunt, that was just a lib to arabesque. this person is talking about this year. pyramids coed does a show and go front stretch to their backs, flips over to a prep extention and dips to go up to a scorp, and double from them.

it's kinda dissapointing how every post sort of turns out as somewhat of an argument, but regarding the original post my favorite stunt is also the FIERCE all girl large senior level 5 elite stunt. with their crazy oprah music and incredible flexability they exacuted a flawless elite stunt. it was P-E-R-F-E-C-T!!! i saw it only once at the State Championship earlier in the season. some teamates and i were joking around saying that ,"oh my gosh i feel like i should like bow down to them or somthing." i loved the music very different and unique. i loved it=]

yeah true somehow things always turn into an argument but whatever..SPiKES NEEDLES same thing ppl form different areas use them interchangeably so some ppl need to chillax..and as for doing them if u wanna be politically--er for this matter Cheerlitically correct yes..South Bay does "Spikes" but whatever.. and YES someone else feels the same way i do about F i E R C E`s stunt .. thats prolly the most creative stunt i`ve ever seen..who thinks of that.. although after 2 seasons i hope they advance it a bit for next year.

What about your favorite music? whether it is this years, last years, or 5 years ago. What is your favorite music you have heard?

i like motions small seniors two years ago with the rock theme, but i think my favorite is Champion's music last year. it looked like from the music the team had fun performing it.

I love the stunt that Fierce did too but if you're talking about the scorps that slowly rotate to the ground?.......creative no.

The Charlotte All Stars did the same thing in the mid 90's. However it WAS better the way the Fierce did it with their choice of music.
