On Tuesday night two girls on the Senior Coed Team had their cars broken into at the Pyramids Annex building down the street from Pyramids Cheer Gym. I wanted to give you some guidelines to help this (or possibly something worse) not happen again.
1. When parking at the Pyramids Annex, park in the front parking lot, the side parking lot or on the street where it is lit. DO NOT PARK BEHIND THE ANNEX OR IN THE PARKING LOT IN THE BACK WHERE IT IS NOT LIT. When parking at the main Pyramids Gym park on the side where the the roll up doors are and it is lit or our on the side of the street where the gym is.
2. DO NOT leave purses, cell phones, cameras, expensive clothes, etc. in plain view in your cars. Either bring them into the gym with you, or better yet lock them in your trunk. LEAVE VALUABLES AT HOME!
3. Lock ALL your doors and roll up ALL your windows.
4. At night, DO NOT go out to your car alone. Take a friend.
5. If you see anything strange, come back into the gym and tell a staff person. We will call 911.
I am reporting this to our landlord to see if we can have more lighting around the Pyramids Annex. I know there is 24 hour surveillance on our road, but it is one guy and he cannot catch everything.
