Dear Sr.Gold, Hello ladies and Coach jeff... This is probably one of the harder things in my life that ive ever done, but I have to say that Iam no longer able to participate in cheerleading. I recieved my MRI results on Monday and was thinking that most likely It was no big deal , that maybe my knee just wasnt strong enough. I was wrong. I tore my ACL and now Im scheduled to Have surgery in Mid November, I really hate this, because as you all know cheerleading is my life, and this team is phenominal, as well as the coach. On this team I have learned many things like How to be Assertive, self assured, and Confident without being rude or dis-respectful. I have learned that nothing comes easy inlife, but you CAN have everything and anything that you want as long as you work for it. Thank you girls for making me laugh and inspiring me , I will never forget how much this year has taught me about growing up and about cheerleading in general, Coach Jeff... Thank you for always putting an emphasis on Respect , and teaching me, as well, as everyone, That respect is not optional, it is required in any field of work. I learned that you could have a team of olympic gymnasts that have no respect, and have a horrible team, or you could Have a team of full squad back handsprings with girls who have an amazing amount of respect, and win Nationals. Another thing that really stuck with me is when jeff told us "You can be better than the boys, better than any other team, and still act like strong women," he taught us that you can stick up for yourself and put your foot down , when appropriate, and say "No, I dont like the way your treating me" as long as its respectful, and ladylike, its ok to be assertive. I really wish this wasnt the team i had to leave. But girls remeber you will go far and do awesome things if you all just stick together, have respect, and be the best... Your called Gold for a reason, do your thing ladies, I Love you all.
I hope that your surgery is successful, and I will for sure come by to see you after your surgery and give you Mr.Balls amazing Homework assignments. Although you have to leave the team, it's best that you fix it now than wait till your last year on pyramids. At this point my emotions about your surgery and you leaving is mixed. I am happy that you're getting your knee fixed now rather than later on down the road, but at the same time I can't help but feel extremely upset knowing that you wont be able to be on our team. I wish you luck in your surgery and your recovery. I Love you Dude.
