From Jeff

I saw this as a response from Jeff to a concerned parent on the Pyramids board. I thought it was well put, from both the parent as well as Jeff, and I felt that it would be great to include here.

Concerned Parent: How do you know that you are not living up to your potential?
Jeff: Everyone can strive to do better and to be better. What I am asking of this Senior Gold team is that everyone do all that they can to improve their skills.

CP: Maybe the girls are trying their hardest and expectations are too high?
J: That is an excellent comment. That is exactly why the girls and I had a talk on Thursday. Maybe expectations are too high- so the girls are now responsible to show me what their best is. Instead of having me continue to push them, it's their turn to take some responsibility and push themselves.

CP: How can I help my daughter do better, if I do not know what she is doing wrong in the first place?
J: Please realize that I am glad you want to help your daughter to be better. However, this is not about you, but instead about your daughter and the other 24 girls on this team taking responsiblity for themselves.

CP: Some girls are new to cheer and may take longer to learn, or maybe they are trying their hardest, but they are exhausted from repetitive skills?
J: You are welcome to your opinions- but please do not question my coaching abilities as I would not question your abilities at your job. Thank you for listening!
