I've managed to dodge the bullet so far this year. My first year coaching, I caught the same bug a couple different times. That was not so fun. I've learned to keep the sickies at a distance

Flu shot, flu shot, flu shot, wash your hands more than normal, & use gallons of hand sanitizer!!! I work in a hospital on my "off cheer" hours and we are pretty much brain washed to wash our hands even when not necessary & we use hand sanitizer so much our hands get horribly dry. We are also required to get all the available vaccines. This year, I've had the H1N1, regular flu, and the T-Dap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis) vaccines. It's helped so much this flu season to keep me fairly healthy. I fought off a cold for while, but other than that, I've managed to keep all the yuckies away. I walked around the gym for about a month straight hand sanitizing all the kids at every opportunity. My advice for cold medicine: Tylenol severe cold, it's the best!!! Stay healthy out there!
Our gym has been hit pretty hard over the last month. Kids, parents, and coaches alike and the flu shot didn't seem to matter on this one. Several who got the flu shot still got sick and it seems to be lasting about 2 weeks! Sure hope it ends soon!
Drink your fluids, take your vitamins and wash your hands. Stay healthy!
Several of our girls got very sick during the week of NCA then a few more became extrememly ill once we arrived there. One had to be taken to urgent care immediately after we came off the floor. It was tough!
