When gyms keep coaches when they should retire?

There's a gym where  the head coach is never there for practice. The assistant coach does all the work and they just cant let go of her.She just doesnt have what it takes anymore. Why do you think?

That it's the gym owner's business and not yours.

You may be right. But it seems we pay alot of money for the sport. It just causes friction in our gym.The girls start to lose respect and it is not good for gym bonding

How do you know she/he doesn't do anything? I know for a fact my gym owners hardly ever there! She/he (not disclosing) only coaches one team but she/he has to caover everything else besides just going to the gym I don't know if you know but someone has to register for comps, order close order music. Plus she or he is the gym owner. Its there gym not yours some where along the line it was there gyms to help cheerleaders become better athletes, when he pr she decideds to retire that's up to them not your personal judgement.

Well first of all I'm at the gym 3 days a week.I do know what goes on there. Theres alot of people at our gym that feels just loke I do.She doesnt doing any of the registrations of comps or anything behind the scenes.Thare is the  someone who  take care of that. She also is not the owner. This is message  boards are  here to ask other people what they think.Sorry you dont agree. You are not at our gym and you dont understand. It just is vey sad that the assistance coach does all the work and she trys to take credit for it.I think he should be the head coach. Thanks for you input

at my old gym, we rarely saw the gym owner. but she was doing paperwork and all the financial aspect. i wouldn't say that the owner doesn't do anything. you just never know...

I'm sorry I misread what you were saying and now the other comment thought I was the owner as well, sorry!
But I just want to say you should leave it to the gym to decide that but take your concerns to the owner. I know I've had some issues with my coaches and I go to the owner because were customers we should be satisfied.

do you have any idea how much work goes into a gym? the fact that you even posted this screams of disrespect. and who cares if the "head" coach isnt there. if the assistant coach is doing a good job, you're still getting good coaching. my guess is that the head coach trusts the assistant coach to leave them with that much responsibility. do you have any idea how much work goes on behind the scenes just to keep the lights on? or to get a bunch of neat gear with your logo on it? this post is disgusting.
