i think that a minimum of a back tuck should be required if you want to be a main tumbler on a senior team.

I think there is more to it than just having a standing tuck. Now, lots of people on my team have standing tucks but not all of them are "main tumblers". I think it has a lot to do with your level of maturity and what team you will fit in best on. As far as tumbling and stunting wise goes, if you are old enough and act of an age fitting to the rest of the senior team, and have skills above the requirements to be on the senior team, why wouldn't you make it? Hope this helps.

i think to be a senior team and a flyer she should have a scorp or heal streach double down or close to them. If it were a sr coed team i think you should have scorp. 900. And a standing tuck.

All of that sounds great but...what if you have someone who has never cheered who is in 10th grade? Should they be cut because they have not been cheering for so many years? Senior Teams especially in smaller gyms have to be based on skill AND age.

I think that everyone on the west coast is always wanting to be on a "senior team". I believe that you should get the max skills you could possibly have to benefit the team you are PUT ON. I've seen A LOT of Junior teams that could give some senior teams a run for their money!! But, if your a freshmen, going to be a sophomore, I think you should have EXCEPTIONAL flexibilitly and strength to be able to fly. Also be willing to do WHATEVER your coach asks of you!!

Took the words RIGHT outta my mouth coach. What is the big deal with being on a "Senior" team. It's not like High School where Varsity has some unspoken power over the JV.

Just be the best you can be every year. The Staff will place you where you will be happiest, healthiest, and most likely to improve.

In our gym, to be on the Senior Advanced team you MUST have a standing tuck MINIMUM. Flyers must to doubles out of EVERYTHING. And you must be able to work longer hours and be in the 8th grade and above. But then again, we have several teams to choose from at the senior level, so I can see where this would pose a problem in the smaller gyms. To be on our Junior Advanced you have to have the same, just the ages are different. When everyone is doing basically the same, it is definitely easier on everyone. But if you want to compete advanced, a standing tuck is really the bare minimum. It will prove to be tough outside of CA to have anything less.

I think for a flyer to make ssenior team, she should deffinatley have her scorp minimum. Also, bases, you are partually responsible for what level you stunt group is going to be in, because if you want your flyer to be pulling harder stunts, but you back out and let your flyer fall, in reality, it's your fault. And all flyers remember, make sure your whole group is comfortable on pulling the stunt, because you will avoid some of the injuries, since it will be less likley for your bases to back out. On to tumbling, I think that if you don't have a bhs (or flip flop w/e you want to call them), then you shouldn't be on a senior team.

i think it depends on what type of senior team you want to be on, for a senior advanced team i think a minimum of a standing tuck for tumbling and a double down or almost have a double down from all skills. I also agree with cheerleader, if your a base you should be able to catch about everything, because if you want to be at the senior advanced level your going to have to try new things and your flyer might go out of control the first time they try it, so you had better be able to catch her.

I think everyone is forgetting that "Senior" relates to to the age/grade of the participant. Hence the titles Snr Prep", Snr Novice, Sr. Level 5, Snr., Level 2, Snr. Level 3, 4 etc.
