Hope I get to hear on Sunday that your knee is doing well. Make sure to update me as I know exactly what you are going through. Remember to keep working on it...you'll be back soon enough!!
I too hoped I would get the "okay" to return to my usual activities, I've been itching to return to tumbling, stunting, and what not for the past 3 weeks, but unfortunetly...I don't think that's going to happen in the next two weeks...
I thought of you this morning during my appointment with the specialist! She pretty much told me what you did on the last day of camp - "Bend it! Work it out!"My leg is still really stiff, they took me off the crutches and the teal brace (i've been on them for 2 weeks!). She gave me a new one (black with two metal joints on each side) and told me to schedule an appointment with the MRI people and told me to take Ibuprofen 3 times a day in addition to 15 "leg pumps" to work the knee - pushing it farther each time. It kind of puzzles me, since we don't know what's really wrong, would working it out make it worse? She ran some small tests and thinks it might be the ACL....i'm scared...
The knee itself is still really swollen - despite the two weeks time, the ice (I've done about 20 minutes a day on and off), and pain killers...
Thanks for being concerned, I feel so special having a message with my name on it, you're really living up to the "Second Mom" reputation that I keep hearing about. Hope to see you soon, if not hear from you.
Hey Kimmie, (just realized I spelled your name wrong the first time)
Hey why don't you email me and we can continue this conversation. Sounds like you are getting a lot of the same info I was given just about 14 months ago. I think I can help you out a little more!
Shoot me an email and we can keep talking about it! maritza@cheergyms.com
