As an all star cheer family turned high school cheer family---does anyone have experience with semi-official high school cheer squad hazing? Semi-official means, to me, hazing that occurs during "heck (euphamism) week" and/or out-of-school events that seemed to be promoted via emails by coaches and/or designated moms?
my daughters have been in high school cheer for years their hazing consisted of being kidnapped at 5 in the morning by Varsity and JV and the Coaches , totally harmless, they went to breakfast in their pj's while all the other girls where dressed with make up and hair done.......my daughters look back and say it was very funny and wouldn't change a thing...good memories

Hazing is illegal is almost every state, and every school district.
If the rookie/freshmen are awakened early in the morning, taken out in public in embarrassing clothes or make up, it's the classic definition of hazing.
Why not just have everybody meet early for breakfast, if this is such a great team building deal? Why do the freshmen have to be humiliated?
If a teacher participates or knows about it, her job is toast.
