Does anyone know how it's going to work? Like are they gona take all the first places from all the competitions and look at who got the highest score or what??
Ps- No matter how it works, my teams wayy excited to prove ourselves lol.
"Champions at each location will be recognized on site and celebrated. These champions will then advance to the final round of competition... the Virtual Grand Championship!
The Grand Championship judges will view these winning routines on-line in the weeks immediately following the All-Levels Championships. Once those scores are tallied, verified and ranked, the Grand Champion results and highlights from selected divisions will broadcast on Varsity.com."
Thats waht it says on the website. I guess it means there will be a winner in each division at all 5 competitions then a video of the winners from all 5 will be watched and judged to find the grand champion of each division.

California AS is. I think we're taking everybody. Junior 4 got a full paid bid. It was only like 100 bucks but still, they're not just handing those things out lol(:
Major sigh. It makes no sense at all to have two competitions claiming to crown best in the world. Some will be going to the one in Long Beach, others will be in Los Angeles, and neither will truly be going against the very best. We need to have one competition that can make that claim (like Worlds for level 5's) and it would be nice if only first place winners received bids. Or if the first place teams already have one, it passes to the 2nd place? It seems obvious there are just way too many handed out, right? Makes it seem too much like it's all about money. I hope there are some changes next season.

My problem with it is the fact that there are 5 (I think?) places where the All-Level is taking place. Some of those sites, including LA, have to compete Easter weekend. Others compete in May. So I think the Easter weekend teams are at a disadvantage if they even choose to go because my guess is some families (athletes) won't be able to attend.

That is true, but I think we'll be able to go against the best in the world...Just not at the competition. Yea it might take a few weeks to see if your the best in the world, and yea you may not get the sastisfaction of being crowned in front of everyone but you still do compete. My teams going to be trying their hardest even though the teams we really want to go against wont be there because we know in reality, we are going against them. Just my opinion.
It has NEVER been a claim to "All Level Worlds". I don't understand why people are trying to build it as such? My guess is there won't be any teams represented outside of the United States, nor are the event producers advertising it outside of the United States. Let's call it what it is....a "regionalized" All Levels Championship. I guess if people want to call themselves "World Champions" they will. Cheerleaders (moreso cheer parents) are famous for seeing through "rose colored glasses".
Well, just a thought. Even if they did invite teams from all over the world they don't hold a candle to the Cheerleaders in the USA. I have been to World's in Florida, and have watched the teams from other countries, have any really been able to overtake the US teams? Not so much!
Nor will they ever. Just like no European Pro football team could beat an NFL team. Cheerleading is "as American as apple pie" and always will be! I don't see any country catching up to American standards in cheerleading. JMO

While it may never be as widespread as American cheerleading, I think we'll see more and more talented teams, especially from Asia.
An update... As of today there were over 2500 cheerleaders registered for the LA Event April 10/11. I expect it to top 3000 as many programs have yet to register!

My family had the pleasure of meeting a young woman from Japan last week. She has cheered for seven years. After watching videos of her teams, I have never seen such precision and clean lines. Her high school team was doing level six stunts and that was four years ago. Once they work on the tumbling and dances, the US teams will have some definite competition!!
