They do score on difficulty. If you throw clean fulls, you'll score higher than if you throw clean tucks, for example.

No not always its seems never to be consistent at every competition.Teams water down there routines with no or little difficulty and still win

Well, at the Spirit Sports coaches meeting of Friday night, they said EVENTUALLY the USASF will have a universal score sheet. Which means more consistency in judging.

James' preference would be to just have USASF adopt HIS scoresheet!

biggrin

Just because you watched a routine and thought that Team A should win over Team B doesn't automatically mean that the judging was wrong.

I would 100% rather watch a clean routine that might not be the most difficult, over a team that throws a little more difficulty and in the proccess sacrafices cleanliness of their routine.

Let's all just take a moment to look at Spirit of Texas. Now, while i think they are absolutly amazing, do i believe that they always have the hardest most flashy routine out there, no. However, they are so clean that you could eat off that floor when they are done performing. And with that being their style that keeps on winning, how can you argue?

Yes but Spirit of Texas is still doing ELITE stunting sequences (ex: full ups or tic tocs). They aren't losing to a team who is doing straight up heel stretch. That's where difficulty makes a difference.

And I like James' score sheet, but I think it needs a sheet like American Championships gives you, that list the other teams in your division and their deductions and raw score. That would make a little more sense to me.

Doesn't mean it was right either!  Something to think about.  I liked the comp.  But there was a few issues there, even among their own staff.

you are oh so right!  SofT is clean and difficult.   Probably not a good example if you want to compare clean with difficult.

Exactly. There definitely needs to be a rubric and universal score sheet. It would be some much to put together a successful routine earlier in the season. :)
