I've never really been a fan of how Cheersport breaks up the same divisions into two groups. I can somewhat understand that why they do it, but it seems to me (at least for the level 5 teams) that you can get a better idea of where you stand and how well you can hold yourself against other teams if they all are forced to compete against eachother.
Last year NCA had somewhere in the ball park of 25 teams in their small senior division. Now, no one really wants to go home and say that they got 25th, but it does let you know where you fall when competing against some of the rest of the country in that division.
Just my thoughts on the matter.

Agree 100%! It should never be about luck of the draw, or however they decide to split the divisions. A team should not be at an advantage because they didn't have the top teams in the country in their division. If you're going to split a division, find a way to do it that makes sense. Gym size, team size, whatever. Are they still doing it by the date you registered?

They usually split them when there's 15 + teams in a division, or somewhere around that number right? I would imagine if you I was judging small senior 4 division with 31 teams in it, I would have a hard time. LOL

I just want to mention that there will be 18 special needs teams competing at Cheersport this year!
If you get a chance, please come by to root them on.
They are split into two divisions. One division will be in Arena F and one in Arena H. They will both be competing between 4 and 5 o'clock.
I just want to commend Cheersport for all that they have done for this division.
Even though they actually score the teams, they make sure that EVERY athlete receives a leather/wool jacket. And each athlete gets a special Cheersport Year patch that they can sew on to the jacket for each year they compete.
Finally, they have always sponsored a FREE pizza/dance party for the teams and their parents. This year, there will be more than 250 athletes and 350 parents.
That is AWESOME! AceDad I would love to talk to you more, pick your brain a little, considering your knowledge about the Special Needs divsion. Do you have an email?

Absolutely. You can reach me at bill.presson@gmail.com.
Jodi Kandl with cheergyms.com could also be a tremendous resource. She's done a great job with her team and with setting up summer camps for several teams.
