Tryouts are basically a condensed version of a summer practice. We'll do a 15 - 20 minute cardio workout, followed by a 20 - 30 minute jump workout. Then we'll split off (depending on tryout size) and teach a short dance to see how you work with the staff as well as others, and also showcase any tumbling skills.

There are currently no requirements right now for the advanced sr team (small coed) but right now if you are a guy it would be a good idea to have your standing back and even better to have a full (three guys right now have fulls, I've heard that 2 other male gymnasts are interested). For females, if you are not a solid tumbler (standing backs, round off handspring backs) then you should be a solid all around cheerleader (strong stunter, strong jumps, strong motions).

Hope to see you at tryouts!

No. Because there are so many styles and techniques, and because there are also athletes new to cheerleading trying out, we don't stunt. Once everyone makes a team, we teach them the same technique and style and progress with the team.
