I am a parent at Pacific Coast Cheer. We were at Valley of the Sun in Phoenix yesterday with our Sm. Sm. Senior 5 team. Even though our kids were competing against the Nor Cal Small Small, the Nor Cal kids were such fabulous sports. They cheered on our team like they were long time friends. Their coaches and parents should be proud. After reading some of the recent posts about unsportsmanlike conduct, I think this example of true genuine character needs to announced. Neither gym had any of their other teams present to cheer them on and it was great that two California cheer teams from different gyms could represent our state with such class.
Pacific Coast Cheer would like to wish Nor Cal all the best in their Worlds pursuit. Good luck this year to all your teams!! What a class act!!

How did pacific coast and nor cal do?
NorCal had some minor mistakes which lead to them being placed second to AZ Power Xtreme. Pacific Coast placed 3rd, but really did put on a great show!
We met a lot of great people there too...AZ Envy and PAC Lions went out to lunch together after prelim...helped break some tension!

PAC final performance at Phoenix
Here is PAC Lions from Phoenix over the weekend...1/10th of a point out of the partial bid...lot of our people were ticked too. I am fine with it- we have a bid already.
PAC was 1 point behind AZ in the prelim performance..
We had a misfired basket in the final performance; AZ had MULTIPLE tumbling miscues in their final...not just touches, but full blown "crash and burn fall on the fanny" miscues. The thing that hurt our score the most? The dance. Yes the dance judges hated it. With a passion. Just fyi...our club gets a "hired gun" choregrapher for the dance from a very big and successful club in Cali, which I won't name here!
1/10 of a point....in the nearly 10 years my kid has been an allstar, we have never seen anything like that...
why did it take nearly an hour to finally give results for level 5 that night??
Congrats to AZ anyways...they are fun people!
I thought it was just cool to have the 9th and 7th best Sm. Sr. 5 teams in the world in '08 in the same building wowing the crowd.

Ok, I was at this comp and yes Pride Athletics you looked pretty good the 2nd time around. BUT, you had numerous mistakes the first time around. Now, I will say NO one had a perfect routine and yes, Power did have some touchdowns, but they had alot more difficulty in their routine. They had 1 to fulls, tic tocs, 360's, just an overall better routine. Not sure how the points were distributed, like if it were 1/3 the first time up and 2/3 the second time up, or if you started from a clean slate both times you hit the mat. The only one that had a flawless routine both times up was the Power co-ed team. They rock and are so much fun to watch. They just didn't have the difficulty in their routine to get them the partial-paid bid.
That is so awesome...WTG Nor cal elite! Glad to know their are still programs out their with class....and I LOVE PC they are a great program, coaches, parents and cheerleaders are always so friendly!
