OK, so in addition to sitting together. Seems as though to the "right" of the stage seems to work... or perhaps somebody has seen the floorplan and has a better idea??? How about each gym gets their own colored bandana to wave and/or wear. I don't know all the gym colors, but since Focus has already started with Green... perhaps other parents can help out with colors..Taking the colors from the website, here is an initial suggestion:
Colony...Orange Pyramids... Red Illusions... Purple 720... Blue? Motions...white?
They have these bandanas everywhere, Michael's, Oriental trading, drug stores. Just a suggestion. Looking forward to Anaheim Go CheerGyms!!!!
Let's get loud and make some noise...It's our last competition... let's get spirited, Loud and United!!! Bring your bandanas, whistles and whatever you can... clappers, shakers and general noisemakers.... Go Cheergyms!!!
I think it sounds GREAT, BUT how do we make sure we can have people sit in the same section? I really don't know how we can do that without saving seats which is AGAINST the rules. Maybe, someone should ask POWER how they get Hundreds of fans in at the SAME time WITHOUT going against the rules and saving seats. I personally think the organization who puts on the competition should assign some seating for all the teams so there is no bitterness when teams CANNOT sit together. We have tried from FOCUS so MANY times to sit together and ALWAYS get told we CANNOT save seats even ONE! So if someone who knows someone at POWER can ask how they do it--that would really help us out. THanks!
I think we don't worry about it.... if other teams/gyms sit in an area we want to be in... we embrace them, welcome them and then cheer really LOUD for our cheergyms'... all together for all teams. THEY will get the idea... just like we don't want to be in a POWER area... other teams will probably not want to sit in a Cheergyms area... but we don't push them out, we just all try and get in an area... even if we are spread out, we can still try and be in the same section. If we all cheer for ALL Cheergyms teams it will be GREAT and what spirit... we can truly show them what cheerleading is meant to be.
POWER all sits in the same area because John makes them get there at the same time. It does not matter what time their ind team performs. The parents have to ALL get there at the same time and sit in the same area. FYI
This past weekend cheergyms.com brought 28 teams. Assuming the average number of kids per team is 20 and the average number of supporters per child is three with parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, then cheergyms.com had roughly 2,220 supports there throughout the day. I'm not sure designating a place to sit is really the issue. If everyone actually cheered for each team we would be EVERYWHERE.
Power brought 3 teams and by those same caluculations they had about 230 supporters. Huge difference yet they were much more noticable. And I don't think it's just the towels.
Great point... Get on your feet... ANY TIME a Cheergyms.com team competes. We've got the spirit, let's all get up and CHEER and SHOUT. Added benefit of burning a up some of the calories from all that lovely low fat food we consume at these events... Go Cheergyms.com!!!!! Motions! Illusions! Focus! Colony! Pyramids! 720! College! If it is CheerGyms.com... we are STANDING!!!! And waiving our bandanas.
Thanks for the reply of how POWER does it. I agree it is fun to cheer on anywhere but it is alot easier to cheer your team on when you have fellow cheergyms around you and not screaming in someone elses ear --who is not from cheergyms and doesn't want to be so close to us cheering. I REALLY like what POWER does and maybe cheergyms parents should do the same--it will look alot more organized and be ALOT more FUN for the fans as well.
SIT TOGETHER (TO THE RIGHT OF THE STAGE) GET YOUR COLORED BANDANAS GET YOUR NOISE MAKERS WEAR YOUR CHEERGYMS SHIRTS OR AT LEAST WEAR BLACK AND SHOW YOUR SPIRIT AND SUPPORT ALL CHEERGYMS TEAMS. IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO SIT TO THE RIGHT... STAND AND CHEER ANYWAY.... YOU WILL BE NOTICED
If anyone is interested in whistles you can go to Oriental Trading Company. There are 2 options, the one with the light is more expensive but still reasonable: http://www.orientaltrading.com
1. PLASTIC LIGHT UP WHISTLE NECKLACE Item Number: IN-24/1504
One request about the whistles...do NOT blow them while teams are performing. Let's take Athletic Perfection for example. Great spirit, but blowing the whistles DURING the performance was not only annoying for the spectators, but for the cheerleaders as well. You could barely hear the music!! My one request...other than that, great ideas!
Power, schmower... if it is fun and spiritied who cares...we don't have to choreograph a song, we are just waving our colors in support of our kids. It is all about having fun and uniting in some way and making our kids feel loved and supported. Imagine when they come out to do a routine and all of cheergyms.com supporters get up and wave their colored scarves. We are showing by example that we are one large group. Show your spirit. I am sure bows were started by 1 team and all followed, that's how good ideas come about, someone starts it. Let's show our colors, our spirit and support and make our kids know we are there for them! If they know they have all of us "out there" ready to cheer them on, their adrenalin will be pumping and they will be excited and perform their best. Let's go!!!
well.. you know since the diffrent gyms have diffrent chants, all the parents usually have no clue what the chant for any of the teams are unless they copy the cheerleaders saying it or their daughter/son has taught it to them.
I think there are two choices.
1) We all chant CHEERGYMS.COM (clap clap .. clap clap clap )
OR
2) We all do the individual chants, If you do not know them i will tell you them (arnt i such a big help? haha)
Motions- "The M is back in Moooooootions" Illusions- "I..llu..sions" (then the 3 hand motions that are supossed to be arrows) Coloney- "Col..o..ney..coloney" Focus- "F..O..C..U..S.. FOCUS" 720- "Seven..two..oh..you know!!" OR "seven twenty (clap clap clap clap clap) Pyramids- Oh gosh I TOTALLY blanked!! Someone help me here!!
