saw it.. it was okay -- not too impressed with the judges -- did anyone else see it.. I think I saw Rey Lozano (us spiritleaders) with Paula helping the teams, but not sure....
I saw it. I was only interested in hearing what the UMASS guy had to say. The other two judges made me want to pull my eyelashes out...Way too slow and both kept making up their own phrases for cheer related choreography. LOL The part I respected most was when Paula addressed the importance of fundamentals - counts, timing, etc. Other than that I think we could've done without the show. And yep, that was Ray Lozano with Paula.
Following that show was MTV True Life Cheer Camp. There was an allstar gym participating called American Glory (?). Other than them there were high school teams. I didn't know that AS and HS teams attended common camps. Anyways...that one was entertaining for my kids. For me?...I should've cut my losses with RAH. LOL
-- oh yes -- the cheer terms - "that twist thingie in the air"... thanks for letting me know that it was Rey I saw... My daughter thought it looked like him as well -- but she wasn't sure either....
like honestly what a let down. not to be mean, but what does paula know about cheer? so yeahh..she dances but still.... and if you didnt know what cheer really was, then you dont know the "terms" shall i say. for example they were calling a 'roll off' a "peel off", and other terms so you could get confused easily if you didnt know cheer. i am sorry, but i just dont think that it was all about cheer..more like all about paula and what she knows and how much more money she can make by doing thiss.
can we go back to traditional competitions please?
heard a rumor that if you went on the show that you had to give up competing or competing at a nationals for 1 year. That it was a conflict of interest? Can anyone shed some light on that? That could be why the bigger more renowned colleges were not "selected" to be on the show...

I just heard the same thing. Hawaii isn't going to Nationals this year in Florida....bummer, because they were AWESOME!!!
regardless, it was a rip off to the girls and boys. a regular competition is wayyy more exciting because thwere are more then just 5 teams. what kind of coach would sign that contract? plus, they would STILL be on tv because the college comp is televised. 100% disappointment.

What were the prizes for this show? Did they receive money? If so maybe that would be the conflict...not sure, just asking.
Viewed this program...pretty disappointing. Could have been put together so much better. Not to belittle the appearing squads mind you, my daughter kept saying "why didn't they have squads from Kentucky or Tennessee on that show?" We read the reasons why later...
Guess Paula is trying for a hit on MTV like Randy Jackson has his "Dance Crew" show.

Can't recall if there was money involved. I remember that the "surprise" prize was a spread in a cheer magazine. And did anybody else notice the desparity between team skills? I thought it was unfairly matched!
