False Advertising????

What do you do when you know another gym is falsely advertising information on their website? Do you bring it to their attention or do you just hope that people will realize this?

Naming that they have more athletes then they really do or saying they won and beat multiple teams when they were in a division by themselves.

or maybe saying that they are the only cheer gym in an area, even though there is a larger cheer gym less than 10 mins away in the same city?

I think its hard when you see this.  Do you become the bad guy and call them out or do you just let it ride?

Do nothing.  It would be petty.

If it is affecting your business is it petty?  Or, do you think that they will be found out in the long run so do nothing?

Who does it matter how may kids what gym has? How do you even know how many kids another gym has for sure, do you go count them? This is so stupid, worry about your own gym. Let people say what they want, if its not your gyms website it shouldnt matter to you.

Let it go.  And then go out there and prove that no matter what your gym kicks booty on the other gym.    If you make a big deal, it could seriously back fire on you and get really ugly.

I think it is funny that people say let it go, its about the principle of the matter.

If a gyms is falsely advertising and kids choose to go to said gym instead of yours, don't they then see that they were falsely advertising?? I wouldn't do anything, karma is one...if you get what I'm saying.

Like???

People will come to realize they are fakes, it may take time but most will see it eventually.  There will be some who will get hooked by the fake team, but in the end you probably didn't want those kids anyway.

Or if they have staff on their website that doesn't even work at the gym.

Sometimes you feed into the hype by trying to tell someone NOT to do something.  Let them experience the gym for themselves.  What will they think when they attend the comps advertised as wins only to place poorly?  Or, if they never see the coaches listed as staff?  It won't take long. The gym will hold on to those people for a year or two tops.  Turn over rates are already high.  They're not doing themselves any favors.  i agree that you should put your best on the floor and let that speak for itself.  Those same families who are at the "jest cheer" will also have an opportunity to see your teams perform.  Now they can make a fair and educated decision.  Case closed.wink

i have an example of a recent false adverstising.   a gym calendar said they would be competing at a competition last weekend.  and guess what?  they didn't.   i wonder how many more competitions they will be pulling their dance and cheer teams from?  are the parents getting their money back?
