This would make for great conversation except that I doubt any of us west coasters will be going to any of those comps....maybe Indy(?) for a gym or two but I think most won't. sigh...
But for conversation sake, those of you who are familiar teams who go to comps in these area should clue us in and tell us who you think might win and why...
I agree with every city but Simi Valley, they just came on the scene, every other city listed has played an intrigual roll in the growth of all star cheerleading. Sorry guys in Simi, you are great but San Diego comes closer than you, even they dont make the list in my eyes. It belongs to the basic ones listed!
Hands down Dallas. Probably has more cheerleaders than any other city - in all-star, jr. high, high school, college, etc. Everybody I've ever met who came from Dallas either was a cheerleader or wanted to be a cheerleader, or admired cheerleaders.

i dont know about that, speaking as an outsider. up untill this season when i thought about california the first team that popped in my mind was simi valley cheerforce. now after last season the first team i think of is california all stars. so i would put both cities on the list.
I think it takes more than one program to be Spirit Town USA, don't you? I'm not saying CF isn't a great program with lots of kids because it is, but compared to cities like Dallas, Louisville and Atlanta where cheer is huge in both All-Stars and Schools, Simi can't compare.
My friend came from a suburb of Dallas and said the whole town would show up for their high school cheer tryouts (not just families from the school - literally the whole town). The gym would be packed standing room only. Most kids on her team did All-Star cheer as well. You don't get that kind of spirit in Calif. I think the only way to put Simi in the competition is by nominating Los Angeles. It is in Los Angeles County and technically a suburb of LA. I think if that were the case and you were able to include the schools/All-Star programs from the greater LA County area, then Cali could feasibly compete with Dallas.

I think so to, there is just such a difference with the respect level from those areas compared to California. So sad too, because it truly is such a dynamic sport.
Dallas, Texas hands down. There is a LARGE concentration of great teams from youth league, all stars, school and college in the same city. Most of the other cities don't have that.
