okay so I believe scales with straight legs show good technique..but when the leg is bent in the back like a half scorpion, it just bugs me...anyone else feel this way?

I agree with you. Bent up scales look like "4's". I have seen many teams out there with beautiful flexibility though.
some teams that are considered one of the "top teams" in our area do these...it bugs me! Nobody pays attention to detal. Then, their outside flyers fake half of the stunts and double downs.

I hear ya! I don't know whats worse; bent up "4's" (scales), or scorpions that the flyer is clearly struggling to pull and hold. I can't stand it when flyers bend their supporting leg. It always looks as though they are going to drop the stunt. On the flipside, there are some gyms/teams/flyers with BEAUTIFUL flexibility. Those are the teams that take the floor and you cannot wait to see their stunting. I have seen plenty of gyms that have gorgeous stunting. Who's your favorite...
I cant stant poorly executed heel stretchs!!! It bugs me to no end when a stretch is on the fliers side rather than in front of them like it should be.
I should have clarified my self... I meant when heel streetchs are all the way out to a fliers side and have a flexed foot... I guess its rather hard to describe.

While they maybe shouldn't have picked that particular picture to post on their website I must say that I've always thought their flyers had pretty good form & great flexibility. I'm not posting to say they're better than anyone else...just posting these pics because I think that that one picture is not an accurate reflection of their flyers.
(slight bent right leg, but pretty darn good scale)
